general grievous has a blue and a green!!! what does that mean?

General greivous can actually use up to five at a time one in each of his four arms and one in one of his legs while he balances on the other leg. He gets his sabers from the jedi he kills. Note greivous does not use the force. He's not a jedi or sith, just the general of the droid army.

Interesting, but not accurate. They might be for some licensed game or something...

Red - Power. Typically used by evil characters.

In movies: Red visually represents evil.
In other media: Sith artificially create red crystals instead of finding them in nature like the Jedi, however some red blades have been used by non-sith, but rarely used due to their association with the evil group.

Blue - Unlearned. Or one feels that they are not learned enough to deserve a green blade(ie: Obi-Wan Kenobi).

In the Movies: Both Anakin and Obi-Wan use blue sabers, and are generally seen as the greatest Jedi of their time so its not restricted to learners.
In other media: Blue is associated with the Jedi Guardians, like Obi-Wan and Anakin, these are the more physical Jedi.

Green - Mastered. Knights and Masters are usually seen carrying green blades, but it is popular with advanced Padawans as well.

In the movies: Lukes Green lightsaber crystal was created artificially.
In other media: Green are used by Jedi Consulars, who prefer to ponder the mysteries of the force, the more intellectual Jedi

Yellow - Usually associated with healers.

Orange - Honor. Can represent strength as well.

In the movies: Never seen
In other media: Yellow are used by the Jedi sentinels, those don't focus on the physical aspects of the force or ponder its mysteries but do both.

Purple - Uncertainty. Some Masters choose this color to remind themselves that nothing is certain in the Universe.

In Movies: Personally requested by Mace Windu's actor, Samuel L Jackson to stand out.
In other media: A rare crystal and therefore rarely used.
