Help the new guy out!

Hey, everyone! Just joined...

A week ago I never heard of Mighty Muggs. I discovered them this past weekend and I immediately feel in love and have become obsessed with Muggs! I am going to start my collection very soon and I was hoping to get some tips from some of you pros.

Where are the best places to shop for Muggs?
- I know now to keep my eye out at Wal-Mart and Target, but what about older Muggs? Where are the best places online to look?

How much is too much $$$?
- I know most Muggs are about $10 - $12. I am interested in picking up ones like Boba Fett, Venom, Admiral Ackbar and most of the Marvel. What are good prices for these and what is too much?

What about boxes?
- I am probably going to rip most of them out of their boxes, so should I save the boxes or tear them to shreads and toss 'em? Are there any I should leave in the boxes?

Hey! Welcome to the forum! I think we all immediately fell in love with muggs once we saw them lol ;)

You can shop for muggs physically at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Urban Outfitters, Toys R Us... and whatever toy type shops you have in your area (idk where you live). As far as shopping online: hasbrotoyshop.com, walmart.com, toysrus.com have been pretty good to me. Check the forum for discount codes, I know there are a few circulating about. Walmart.com is cool because they usually have free site-to-store shipping. Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, and our sponsor Past Generation Toys are also good places online (a little more expensive, but good). I believe there is a thread for this already. :P

I'd say $10-$12 is what you should be paying. Urban Outfitters charges $20! Pfft!! I think $20 is a bit much, but apparently its alright to get Venom there for $20. SDCC Iron Man and Peter Parker can be pricey too. Maybe $30. I saw Boba Fett last week at Toys R Us for $11. Check out the Buy/Sell/Trade section... people might have something you want there.

I love keeping mine in boxes. I only open em when I get doubles. You can open the boxes from the bottom so you can put the mugg back in the box later if you change your mind. Um, I'd say keep exclusives in their boxes. They're exclusive! :)

I actually love the design of the boxes. The nice thing about these is if you are moderately careful, you can take the toys out of the boxes and keep them for later or make a nice stand for them.

Some stores are even getting older toys in. My Toys R Us got a recent shipment of lots of the 1st and 2nd waves recently. Good luck.

I see that there are revisions of older waves coming out. Does that mean some Muggs (like Venom) are going to be easy to find again and are there any differences in the revisions?

and is there a release date for the TRU exclusives (punisher & jigsaw)?

Welcome to the forum. I think Azumia explained it pretty well. I think they are planning to re-release Venom. So, I'd hold off a bit. I get most of my Muggs from Target, Walmart and Toys R Us. The best way to get future Muggs is to just preorder them. Saves you time going from store to store looking for them. I preordered my GI JOE and Transformers Mugg set from www.bigbadtoystore.com .
