I'm new to all of the customizing. But my first attempt is putting an LED light in Iron Man's chest. This is proving to be harder than I had anticipated. I had to cut the body section open with a Dremel. It worked but now I have gaps going around the body section. Does anyone have any tips for putting this back together. Any special glues, tac, or anything? I also need solutions on how to fill the gaps and paint them.

I'm actually working on getting a couple of those from a seller. I'll post again when I start on that project.

Awesome work!
If you can do a custom light-up SDCC Iron Man, would you make one for me too? I love lights!
Just throw me a PM!

Unfortunately the deal I had going for the SDCC Ironman Muggs fell through. I am currently looking on Ebay for them. But as you know they are a little pricey. If I was to grab a few of these I would have to cover my cost for the Mugg as well. If anyone would be willing to pay for these, or the regular Ironman Muggs, I'd be happy to make a few more. Let me know, I can have them ready within the next month. Just in time for the holidays.

What is "Mighty Putty", and where can I purchase it? Also, from what I can gather, everyone on this site uses acrylic paints. I wanted to know if that is the best kind to use on this "Mighty Putty"? I have all of the wiring done, and everything works great. I just need to re-assemble the Mugg. I'll be posting a few of these on Ebay by the end of November.

I'm almost done with my custom Mugg. All that needs to be done now is apply some putty and paint. And of course re-attach the head. I'll be posting this on Ebay next weekend. Thanks for all of your help on this project. I'm looking forward to my next custom, and working with you guys again.

Looks awesome bro! Are you going to put a rim/faceplate around the light, so it blends in better with the armor? Either way, it looks sweet!

By the way, would you mind giving us a walk-thru on how you broke apart Iron Man, as well as rigged the LED? Is it battery operated? Are you able to replace the batteries? I'm very interested in the design process! ^_^
Thanks again!

I actually had to cut the body open with a Dremel. As far as the wiring goes I used two 1.5v LR44 batteries. There is a switch under the right foot. Since I cut it open and have to re-seal it with putty, there is no way to replace the batteries without cutting it open again. But the batteries should last awhile with being able to shut the light off. I don't have all of the other materials in front of me at the moment. I will be customizing the new Mark 1 Iron Man and the SDCC Iron Man in the same way. I'll try and list all of the materials and post step-by-step instructions.

You should try making a solar-powered Iron Man :D

If I knew how to, I would. I don't even know where to get a solar panel. Or even where I would mount it on the Mugg. I did however have a thought about putting some led's into the Muggs hands for Iron Mans repulsor beams. But that's gonna take some time.

now that its christmas, walmart has a string of 60 leds for under 8dollars, would be an excellent buy if you plan on selling the customs.

It's finally done. I could have done better on the painting though, it's sloppy. Now that I know what I'm doing the next one will be even better. I have already posted it on ebay:
