I really would have started a poll for this... but honestly, there was just so many things...
Skids & Mudflap... not quite Jar Jar Binks, but very nearly. It helps if the comic relief is actually funny.
The incredible disappearing Bumblebee... "I could have sworn he was with Sam's team, but I haven't seen him for 20 minutes."
Jetfire... oh dear, where do you start. I'm not sure where he came from, that accent was seriously all over the place.
The whole Shia & Megan Fox thing... they've been together 2 years and never said that they loved each other, huh?
Megatron not being in charge... I mean wtf?
The movie peaked with the forest battle... The desert scene was overdrawn and muddled. I just wanted it to end.
Soundwave... His inclusion was complete fan service. Spent the film in orbit getting jiggy with a satellite. If you going to include Soundwave, at least give him more to do.
Annoying little robots that weren't funny... stand up Doctor... Wheelie... Sam's kitchen.
Sam's mother... yeah, the whole college scene did nothing for me.
Autobots criminally ignored... introduces Sideswipe who slices a decepticon in half, then forgets all about him. We never really see how the Autobots feel about Prime's death. Even Bumblebee who is with Sam never really reacts, although he reacts plenty to Sam's death.
Sam in Autobot heaven... don't get me started... Harry Potter has a lot to answer for.
I'm sure plenty will disagree with me, and i'm sure there are many more hates for the list.

Skipping it. the first movie was below average, and I assume the sequel will be more of the same. Transformers the movie animated was much better.

Transformers 1 was dumb, but incredibly fun in my opinion. I'll be seeing it Wednesday night. I think the only Bay film I absolutely hated was Pearl Harbor. Everything else is just a dumb fun time.

i hate the way they look.
the designs for the transformers are terrible. they looked more like aliens than robots.
the first movie could have been a lot better. the script was weak to me. i don't think the writers even cared to follow most of the origin of the transformers. but that's how it always is.

Can anyone tell me how Soundwave sounds in the movie? I'm really curious and hope it's close to the cartoon.

Soundwave sounds pretty similiar to the cartoon but without the robot voice filtering... more like a less hoarse Dr Claw from Inspector Gadget, I believe they had the same voice actor?

Yep, Mr. Frank Welker voiced both characters. Now that's lame that there's less (or none) of that voice filter. That's what made the Soundwave stand out from the other Transformers.

nah, go back and watch the cartoon, sounds nothing like soundwave. I have his voice pretty recent in my mind after watching season 1 again and just seeing the movie. Might be the same guy but didn't sound like soundwave from the cartoon.

I liked it but my biggest gripe was ironhide, sideswipe, ratchet were hardly in the movie. Arcee sucked, mudflap and skids weren't that bad, but I would have prefered other autobots (hound, trailbreaker, cliff jumper). It was an optimus and bumble bee love fest. Love those two but I need more autobots. Plus the constructicons didn't turn into individual robots. Still good and the first movie was better. I can't believe some ppl didn't like the first one, but I guess you can't please all.

They were in a hurry. There's a scene where the twins are in front of a pyramid and it looked like the graphics off of a C-movie on sci-fi channel. The movie dragged ass for two hours and then tried to cram everything in the last 30. There was no explanation for the Fallen at all except a little in the beginning. They needed to show Meghan Fox naked to save this movie, enough said, lol.
Then there was the racial profiling which ironically, I found hilarious. You have two autobots that talk like they are from LBC, they cannot get along no matter what, and they cannot read (you did see that part, right?).....who were the writers slamming against?
Even though the fight in the forrest was awesome, it didn't make sense. The first movie showed the autobots barely being able to hold off the decepticons and Optimus getting his ass handed to him by Megatron till Sam shoves the all-spark into Megatron. In the forrest on TF2, you have Optimus taking on most of the big players for the decepticons alone, which started to remind me of 300 for some reason, lol....hmmmmm.....odds and fight cinematics? Anyone?
Jetfire was decent for comic relief. Bumblebee blowing up Sam's mom and dad's house was pretty funny. Skids/Mudflap were the closest to an autobot version of Jar-Jar I can think of and the leg-humping extravaganza was unnecessary....one time in a movie is fine.....the RC-truck humping Meghan Fox, understandable (wear a rubber though cause Brian Austin Greene has been all over the place from what I hear, lol).
All in all, the movie was alright. With the understanding that the series was just dumb fun and endless money thrown at special effects.

Could have been a lot worse. I went into it expecting nothing better then the 80's cartoon movie. (Be honest when you go back and watch it, it really was awful.) Going in with no expectations made it a very enjoyable movie for me. "The Fallen" didn't bother me that much since Megatron bitches out in the original animated movie as soon as someone stronger then him comes around so it was not a stretch for his character.
And let's be honest folks how much can you expect, it is a movie based off a cartoon that is based off a toy. If they started up a Mighty Muggs hour we as adults would think it was awful but our kids would love it and someday would think it was the best cartoon of their childhood. Go back and really watch some of the shows we though were great... Thundercats, Transformers, Voltron... all great in our head now but truly not very plot heavy.

ok i loved this movie it was entertaining but alot of questions and comments i have...
SPOILERS!
1. Wheelie wasnt orange! i loved how the made him like joe peschi and with te leg humping but wtf? why not his actual color?
2. Rc had about two words to say so did alot of the other autobots
3. plot was all over the place. it was like PLOTHOLE....ummmm EXplosion
4. Megatron yells at starscream for not being the leader, then megatron goes and kisses the fallens ass?
5.The fight with devastator was awesome.....wait what fight?
6. the end figt was sick...but it was way too short.
7.ok if there was a piec of the all spark left....why didnt they use it to revive prime?!
8. your last living ancestor is dead....nvm that lets revive the kid!
9. The college scene was hilarious
10. megan fox is hot
ok i can name alot more stuff but now im just tearing into just my 2cents

This movie is terrible.
It has several plotlines that don't go anywhere
1. The Pretender. What happened to her? She just stopped chasing them after being hit by a car? Why did they even bother with that whole bit?
2. The guy who wanted the Autobots to leave the Earth. He kept turning up and gasbagging then gets pushed from a plane. End of his plotline just like that. No relevance.
3. The Fallen. The movie was named for him. He shows up and gets killed the second he lands on the ground. End of movie even though he's poweful enough to repel/attract gravity? Whaaaaaattttt? Weak.
4. Continuity was messed up and all over the place. There's one scene where Sam and friends jump into Bumblebee and then two seconds later they are running along beside him and Sam says "Go, get in Bumblebee." My man and me both said "Wo, see that?" at the same time.
5. The roommate. Useless and unnecessary to the plot.
6. Not a transformer movie, more a big-robot-lots-of-Kablooie movie. They should have made a more G1 focussed movie instead of a sell-more-new-toys movie. I'm going to go see it again because it really confused the willies out of me the first time.
7. Why do all the Primes look identical and optimus' protoform looked nothing like that in the first movie?
8. If the Decepticons have this advanced weaponry how come Starscream can't hit four cars traveling two abreast with at least twelve rockets. No heat seakers on Seibertron? Only drunk missiles that blow straight up like pyrotechnics.
9. Why are there so many clone autobots and decepticons? Not very good disquises. And the Constructicon with the eight foot decepticon logo was a perfect Earth disquise, no one would say "There's a decepticon, right there!":D
:dance:The 80s cartoon movie is the absolute MIND BOMB. You obviously don't have THE TOUCH!

There was a scene when Devastator ate either Hurp or Durp, and some guy down the front of the theatre shouted "Hooray!", everybody in the cinema laughed at that. The "comedy" in the movie? erh... not so much.

I think she got killed after being sandwiched between the car and the metal pool.
Besides that, Transformers 2 is a bad movie but I think most people wanted to see stuff explode and Autobot battles so I guess it did it's job of entertaining some people.

It's good when advanced alien robots who can't be killed in the first movie because of their regenerative metal parts can be killed by a trashy earth car in the second.:D

Apparently the days of going to the movies to escape the limits of life are over. All people do now is nitpick at them as if they were real events. Does it occur to anyone that it is science FICTION? I mean, every movie that is made has it's pros and cons. Shouldn't the amazing effects and action blow away the minor cons for this? Perhaps people just dislike the concept, director, or plain down have a negative opinion before a positive one.

This may come as a shock to you, but people expressing their dislike of a bad movie isn't a new thing ;)
Going to the movies is a real event. They even market movie releases as "the event of the summer" and so on. If you just wanted a silly romp you could rent one of those low budget sci-fi channel productions.
Transformers is science fiction. However, it is also badly written and badly executed science fiction. This movie doesn't just have minor cons... it has major structural and pacing issues. It is a massive, bloated beast of a film balancing itself on the flimsiest of plots.

aaand, the cartoon wasn't? Wasn't it originally a vehicle to sell toys? What makes that so different?
Everyone who seems to still be fond of the old Transformers we grew up with don't seem to recall that that show had the worst plots ever, same thing every episode: Megatron tries to steal energy for blah blah blah. Lame. I think you are all focusing on the good stuff you remember about the old toons... go back and watch them now.

I'm not comparing the movie to the cartoon. The cartoon, like many of its time, only stands up today as a piece of nostalgia. I'm judging the movie based on its own (lack of) merits.

see, I like the way you look at things. people these days can't have a simple discussion about anything without taking offense as if the other person were attacking their own personal beliefs and values. I realize something about what could have made a scene more better.
That part where ***spoiler*** Sam goes to Autobot "heaven" and meets those Robots would have made a lot more sense (or better placed in the movie) IF it were at the Temple scene where he touches that thing that Disintegrates. He could have touch that thing and get a vision (autobot Heaven) instead of nearly dying and meeting those Robots in some spiritual world.
Just saying ya know.

From a "REALISTIC POINT OF VIEW" I could accept a crystaline race, a techno-organic race, a geothermal and a liquid based alien race since these have all been theorised by scientists as theoretically possible but not a race of transforming giant metal robots that talk in racial stereotypes and know human kung-fu. Well there is the concept of "suspension of disbelief", where an audience kind of enters an agreement with the movie to take things like space aliens and/or characters that are bullet-proof as fact. The condition being, that the agreement isn't abused too much. Transformers RotF rapes that agreement while laughing in your face.

When I first saw it i liked the movie. But then, I thought about it, I couldn't remember what it was that I liked about the movie. I get the whole thing that it's robots blowing up stuff and destroying each other, but there really wasn't much to the movie. I think that's why they threw in Shia as the main character. To have someone to revolve a story around. Because without that it's a bunch of special effects. And the movie is visually stunning. But that's about all I liked about Transformers. It just didn't do it for me.
I don't hate the movie, but I don't like it.

I was content with the movie, mainly because I didn't pay for it, lol. I had a free movie ticket from work and was killing time a couple weeks ago. I was disappointed at so many things. The forrest fight made the movie look promising, but it was all downhill from there. The visuals were very choppy, a two year old could tell you what was computer animated on it. The "I love you" thing was ridiculous, Sam was pretty much begging to tell her he loved her in the first movie and after two years, he's too cool for her? If he don't wanna tell her he loves her I will, muahaha! Skidz and Mudflap were a testiment to racial profiling. The dogs humping scene? What was it, three times it showed them going at it? The Jetfire/Optimus upgrade was kinda neat, except as soon as he was done, he peels it all off like he doesn't know he'll need it in the next sequel! The opening Hong Kong scene and the forrest brawl were the only two cool things to me, but the forrest thing doesn't really make sense because of how hard of a battle it was at the end of the first Transformers, then out of nowhere, Optimus can take out most of the decepticons alone? Eh, it wasn't a classic, but if you walk in there with no expectations, you'll probably be okay.

oh yea, like Nutt Mugg was saying, they had a lot of immature shtuff in the movie. for no reason. the dogs humping. the transformer's nut sack. there was a scene with that right? and that other guy that was working at the butcher shop had a lame "toilet humor" style scene, too, if I remember. And pretty much agree with every thing nuttmugg said in his post.
