Lost my job today....

so the company that I have worked for, for the last 4 years did some "downsizing" today and I lost my job. I made it through two rounds of eliminations over the last 6 months or so, but couldnt manage to get by this one.

I suppose its an opportunity to find something better.

If anyone has a use for a freelance web designer, I am looking for some work! ( I gotz hellacious skillz!:typing:)

thanks guys! yeah the economy really is shit. my next door neighbor lost his job about a month ago and a neighbor across the street lost her job several months ago.

Sorry to hear this :( My company is just trying to stay in business while the economy takes us for a ride. We have already downsized our facility so far we are all still employed. Alot of my friends aren't as lucky... Good Luck Ninja

Sorry to hear that... Mike & I both work for the School District... I was let go in November (Budget Cuts) and he's hanging on... Hopefully no more budget cuts... But that Governator keeps taking money from school funds! Jerk!

its going....

been working on my portfolio(website). Most places in my field wont even let you apply if you dont have a portfolio. Got my resume up to date and hopefully have eberything together in a day or so. When I am done with the portfolio I will post it if you want to see it.

In the mean time I have a temp job that pays more then I was making before. start that on Monday. So we will be ok for a while.

I have a trip to Florida planned in the next few weeks to see my parents, so I figure I will work hard until then trying to find a job, then I will take my nice break! :)

Best of luck with the temp job. You never know, work hard enough, they may hire you permanantely and love it more than your previous job. Sometimes a change in scenery can do you lots of good. Maybe even a blessing in disguise. =)
