As everyone has noticed there are quite a few people on here that are selling venoms. For those of you that are, why are you charging twice as much as you paid plus shipping? I'm willing to bet that you didn't just happen to find all the venoms in some urban outfitters while you were out and about. You probably sat at home and called every UO in the country and had them shipped to your house for free. I was lucky enough to get my venoms for retail from target when they first came out. So please don't say you want to help everyone else out and then charge them twice what you paid. You're only helping yourself out that way. You should have just bought what you wanted or needed and left the rest so a real collector could have bought them without dealing with you as the middle man. Sorry for the long rant but since this is a community, it's just disgusting that you would do that to your fellow muggers.

I couldn't agree more! Well said.

If trying to make money off of your fellow collectors is your initiative, at least be honest about it and write your high asking price in your thread. I'm tired of reading 'I just wanna help out my fellow collectors, PM me for details..." BREAKING NEWS, you're only helping YOURSELF!

That being said, there is lots of other people on this board who are kind and do help out other members and its appreciated! =)

Well I just got this message from one of our very own moderators regarding his venom sale.

Just an FYI for ya, I did purchase ALL of them at my local UO. I can provide you the receipt if you like and I DID NOT buy all of them....I left some on the shelf and never said nor implied I was "Helping fellow members". I am sure you were referring to ....but still. Please do not go throwing around that BS until you know that facts. They average on Ebay from $35 on up + shipping. so thats their value. If you dont like the price, dont buy it. Blame the market. Sorry if I am defensive, but I took offense to your post, when you have no clue about my purchase of the venoms.

I say if you want ebay prices, take your stuff to ebay. I really didn't want to post this message, but I think it's really sad that a moderator for this forum would go out of his way to purchase extra muggs he does not want or need to turn a profit off of members in this community.

seriously?? Why would I buy more then I need to turn a profit? Its called smart business. I am not pulling any scams or duping anyone, heck I even pointed out boxes that arent perfect.

not to mention even after you you made this thread I pulled my listing and

In your pm to me you said you werent even talking about me! Which means you were aiming at Mr. Woo. When you post something word for word, you shouldnt leave anything out.

I hope you sent your letter of disgust to Urban Outfitters complaining to them about doubleing their prices.

Again, I appoligize that my prices offend you. I am sorry I wasnt looking out for the community to give everyone a deal.

Talk about drama! Yeah, it really sucks that Venom is so expensive. I know there are a good number of people on this forum that purchased Venom from UO. You don't have to buy from the first person you ask. Lots of people on this site do help each other out. :) If you don't like a certain deal with someone, just say you don't. You won't hurt anyones feelings. I can name about 5 people that bought Venoms (I just don't know if they are still available). The thing is, if someone bought Venom for $22 (incl. tax)... they have to buy a box to ship, bubble wrap, tape, or whatever supplies to make sure your mugg reaches you safely. Then you have to add shipping... another $7 maybe depending on your area. So all in all, people aren't making a big profit. They could easily sell their Venom for $40+ on eBay. AHH! The whole situation is rather sticky... I just hope people can see both sides of the story.

I understand all that. But why not just sell them on ebay then? Or why not just leave them at the urban outfitters for someone else to buy. All I was trying to point out is, if you are part of a community of collectors there is no need to charge them any more than you paid plus the cost of shipping it to you and paypal fees. And if you say they are not making a huge profit then what's the point? I just think, and I'm not talking about ninja mugg here, that some of the other people who said they wanted to help others out could have just stated where they saw the venoms and let people get them themselves. And as far as how much they go for on ebay, let them sell them on ebay then, no need to bring the high prices here.

The whole situation is rather unfortunate. But you know, not everyone has the convenience to shop at UO or have the time to call all over the country for Venom. Overall, I think they are trying to help other members and the savings just get lost in all the shipping and handling. As far as eBay goes, maybe they are selling their other spares there... who knows? I'm just saying, if they offered you a price you didn't like... don't take it. There really is no need to get upset about it. Just move on. Anyway, Venom is supposed to be re-released soon and hopefully these types of problems will go away (at least here in the forum). Then there will be no need to rant anymore. ;)

Oh, we do let others know when we run into Venom and other muggs via the Mugg Sightings thread. :)

in this world of toy collecting.. there will be always businessmen.. for me they have the right to put up whatever price they want on their item for sale.. it is up to the buyer if he or she is willing to buy for that price.. i know this is a community..we treat ourselves as friends here who share a common interest.. but like they always say..friendship ends when business begins..

but that doesnt leave you no choice at all.. in fact you still have a choice regardless of what the seller is showing here be it kindness or just simply doing business or doing both at the same time.. the choice is still with you..

and there is a reason why there is a buy and sell category in this forum..
