Anyone seen The Happening yet? What an interesting concept that planets could make the world go crazy. The only thing I find unreasonable about it is that it happened all over the world at the same time. Species expansion simply does not work that way.

My friend told me about the script. I'm glad I spent 2 hours of my life doing something else then watching this horrible movie!

I didn't mind it. I know most people hated it, but I though it was half decent.
You know for someone with a sci-fi name you sure don't seem to like much of the new sci-fi out there. So what do you like besides Star Trek?

At first, I thought The Happening would be a new flavor to the movie scene. But then towards the end of the movie, I was left hanging. I was clueless what had caused or triggered the people to commit suicide.

I rented this and watched it last night... it was pretty much nature getting back at humans because we are a threat. The guy in the movie said it was like the red tide, but toxins were dispersed in air... so the trees and stuff were releasing toxins that made people kill themselves. The crazy guy (with the nursery) was talking about how a certain plant was able to defend itself by producing a chemical that made wasps kill only the bug that was a threat to the plant.... its like that but people... haha! All in all, the movie was alright... its always a hit or miss with M. Knight.

Could you post a spoiler warning next time. Even if it is basic plot I still like to watch some movies without knowing anything.

i was expecting a m. nighty shyamalan treatment like what he did in the village, the signs or the movie where bruce willis was in.. in short i was expecting a twist in the movie.. but there was none.. it was told in the beginning of the film that the plants were making those horrible things.. but i was expecting something more.. by the time the movie was finished.. that was it.. there was nothing more.. geez.. i think m night was just messing with us.. everyone was expecting a twist right. it was like m night saying APRIL FOOLS!!!!

I didn't mind it either except for the horrible jokes.
It didn't happen all at the same time because at the end of the movie it shows it happening in Britain 3 weeks after it happened in America.

Yeah, there were some pretty bad ones. And that woman's facial expressions were always the same... wide-eyed and surprised... eh. Hm... I thought it happened 3 months later in France... I could be mistaken.
Oh, sorry for saying too much... in the previous post. :( I won't give away stuff like that next time.

Maybe it was France. I'm not really sure. I saw it like when it first came out in theatres.
