Yes I'm a hockey fan. My team is the Edmonton Oilers, hopefully we can go on a bit of a run and get ourselves back into the playoffs this year.

Yeah, Avery was just being Avery... I think it was because he said it while wearing his jersey? Other then that its typical Avery behavior. Glad he's not on my team anymore... he was kind of a prick in real life.

Jumbo Joe is doing alright this season. Marleau's stepped it up big time. Parise is goin crazy - i knew he'd do well and picked him up on my fantasy team late in the draft and he's definitely a winner and underrated. Devils are stayin alive almost purely cuz of him, at least offensively. And Malkin's just scoring like crazy. Altho i still prefer Ovie (who could easily whup his butt).

Tip for you - if you're gonna sit up high, go all the way to the top, last row - that way, you can lean forward all you want and usually there's a ridge behind your seat where you can put bags/stuff. At least that's how it is at the Tank in San Jose. :D

Omg, speaking of sitting up high... I went to the Kings/Rangers game on Wednesday and this guy stepped over some seats in the row in front of him and toppled 5 rows down! Good thing the rail saved him... he nearly crushed 3 guys on the way down. Scary, yet funny at the same time. LOL!!!

So I got back a little while ago. It was AWESOME! I made a mistake about the seating though. It was student night and whenever I've gone to Wizards game the seats are always up high, but for the Caps we got to sit 4 rows back and get a coupon for a free Chipotle burrito. Mmmm. Caps won, but played eh. They could have played better. I wish I went to school in NY though so I could see my favorite teams (Rangers, Mets, Knicks, Giants).

I used to follow hockey when I was younger and it seemed like there were a lot more icing calls. Did the rule change?

What did you all think of the all star game on Sunday? It was pretty laxed until the guys competitive side kicked in and neither side wanted to lose. After that it almost started to look like a real game, minus the hits of course.

Pretty awesome finish by Ovechkin.

It was alright. Very slow paced and not much action. Although, I do understand why. I have always preferred the skills comp to the game itself.

The game was decent. loved the 3rd period. thats usually when the ASG picks up. At least my boy Parise got a goal in his first game. and it was great see Henrik "swiss cheese" Lundqvist give up the most goals.

Also, i am trying to sell all of my opend McFarlane NHL figures. I have a bunch...# different Gretzkys, Ovechkin(old caps jersey), Crosby, Luongo, and lots of others. I also have the display rink. if anyone is interested please send me a PM. thanks

1st period - uber boring. Slow ass skating which kills the point of the game. The game's about speed. 2nd period - little better - saw some bursts of good skating. 3rd period - much better. But this was the reason why i never watch all star games - it doesn't count, people don't wanna get hurt, don't wanna get tired. That all adds up to a boring product. The montreal intros of famous players from the past during breaks was, IMO, super boring and awkward. Ya, they're playing on the ice so you can't show them there, but having them just pop up out of the stairwells? - that's the best that could be done??? I'll blame it on both the limitation of hockey arenas as well as just bad presentation/concept on the event planner's part.

Also, the lack of slapshots is super lame. You'd think they'd score less goals since the goalie has more time to react to a snapshot, but alas.

at least my sharks represented big time: boyle, thornton, and marleau all getting some big action and points.

It was basically a passing clinic most of the time. Goalies don't stand much of a chance when they come in and change the point of attack 10 times before they shoot.

No slapshots, means no block shots, which means no chance of injury. Its the same reason why there are no hits. I dont think Sheldon Souray and Andre the Giant, I mean Zdeno Chara, knew what to do with themselves. Most of the defense for that matter.

It might be boring to some, but I do enjoy the pretty plays that these guys can put together, and it was pretty special for the Dallas players that made it. Robidas returning to his hometown, and Modano possibly playing his last all star game the same place he played his first some 20 years ago.

Seven game series w/clemmensen in the net - sharks take it no question. We run too many quality lines. Marty? Dunno. See how much rust he has. But a goalie can only do so much.

Sharks are playing junky lately. Nabby's been letting in some soft crap and our D hasn't been up to par. Still scoring like crazy, but giving up too much stuff.

Hockey as a sport is pretty cool, but the NHL fucking sucks. They have no idea how to market and expand the fan base. They should be pumping ovechkin and crosby as the hockey version of magic vs. bird. Sean avery is also pretty cool when he's not dressing up in womens clothes.

The guy(Ovie) is a goal factory! he loves what he does, has fun on and off the ice! plays had, throws the body, works at both ends of the ice, so hes not a set up man....so what.

Malkin, IMO is the best all-around player in the NHL. He does everything there is to be done on the ice!

Cindy, is the guy who thinks hes a superstar and everyone should just bow down to him. NHL.com did a poll awhile back and asked the players who the biggest complainer/whiner was...Crosby won in a landslide. sure, hes got skills, but i wish he would just shut up and play.

Ever since Game 7 against the Capitals, the Penguins have been playing like a completely different team. It's like they suddenly came alive. If you were to ask me a few weeks ago, I'd say the Wings would have the Cup in the bag. But with the way the Penguins have been playing as of late, I think they may have a good chance of winning it. Either way, I think the series will go to at least a Game 6, regardless of which side wins.

It's definitely cost them before in the past. I think their logic is that they're more used to them than their opponent so they can react/adapt to the crazy bounces faster.

I still can't believe that Pitsburgh has been held to a mere 1 goal in each game so far. After they played the ultra defensive-based Carolina, I thought for sure the Pens would be at least be able to net a couple of goals per game against Detroit. But thus far, it's been all Osgood.
