I thought it might be fun to have a thread to discuss new games that are coming out, primarily the ones that you are excited for.

Currently I'm looking forward to Assassins Creed 2 and Bioshock 2, but I'm sure there are a bunch of others I'm not thinking of right now.

I'm very excited about Fight Night: Round 4. I'm more into Fighting games than any other genre. But I also like adventures like the upcoming God Of War 3....even though I don't own a PS3. Also the upcoming Batman game. Metal Gear Solid+ Batman= Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Samurai Shodown Anthology. I know its not really NEW new, but SS6 is on there and never been released in the US.

You know, I know this is blasphemy, but I could never really get into Dead Rising. I played several four-hour stretches of it, and it was just not compelling.

I sold my copy, but every time I'm in Gamestop I consider picking it up again, just because I feel like I SHOULD like the game.

Maybe I'll like DR2 better.

Dead Rising's story is kind of so-so and it's a bit annoying trying to go to specific locations at a particular time but I found it very entertaining mostly because you can use almost anything as a weapon. I always wanted a game like that (similar to Power Stone). I think Capcom will do right on the 2nd.

yes! i hope they decide not to lose the "call of duty" moniker completely, though. i have hundreds of hours logged into Search and Destroy on COD4 (i think its 38+ days), and i am so pumped for another MODERN Call of Duty Game. in my opinion, they should call it "Call of Duty 5" ;)

theres a COD4 tournament in town in a few weeks. i want to practice and enter!

Good thing i have a gamefly account. i could never afford all these games. haha.

so you would recommend it? maybe ill sign up but cancel once COD: MW2 comes out, because i literally will not be playing anything else. i too am excited for Bioshock 2, although i am naturally nervous about the developer switch. maybe it it will be better? :D. i loved that the first one was 1P but i think the plasmids would translate as a fun multiplayer experience.

I think they have dropped the name "Call of Duty" and Modern Warfare is going to be somewhat of a new series to the Franchise.

So many good games coming out this year. I'm looking forward to GoW3, MW2, ultimate Alliance2, Arkham Asylum, Bioshock 2, InFamous,Prototype, Bionic Commando, Ratchety and Clank, Uncharted 2, The Wolverine game, and many more that i can't think of right now. Good thing i have a gamefly account. i could never afford all these games. haha.

GameFly is amazing! Since all the video stores are going out of business in my area, Gamefly is a great choice to rent video games although it's a bit tricky getting the games you want on your list.

dropping the Call of Duty name is not only disappointing but also dumb move. people are going to go to walmart and ask for "that call o' duty game", and the worker will grab world at war despite being a year old, and neither the customer nor the worker will know the difference. World Tour wasnt really a "guitar hero" game, but got the title anyway, im surprised they would drop the name of such a popular franchise. maybe they feel Treyarch ruined the name, haha. i seriously think they need to call it Call of Duty 5, as if to say "What? World at War? No, that wasnt a sequel, that was just a spin-off. THIS is the next call of duty.

It's a bit weird, if you ask me, since the Call of Duty brand has proven to be a very recognizable one, even when it comes to non-gamers

it is out, and its indeed "HAWX" . dont blame you for missing it though, because i didnt hear much either, but then there it was at Best Buy last month. i think i read a review on it...7.5 i think.

Gamefly is awesome. I've been a member for over 3 years, and have only had 2 problems with them. One time they sent me a messed up copy of Final Fantasy 3 for DS, and the other time they just sent me the wrong game. They have 2 different plans too. You can either get 2 games at a time or 1. I went with the one game plan(might have to upgrade with all these games coming out). It cost about 17 bucks a month for me. Not sure on the 2 game plan. They also have a store with descent prices plus free shipping if your a member, and the option to keep the games they send you. If you choose to keep it they send you the book and box for no extra charge.

I just got Samurai Shodown anthology for the wii in the mail (cuz gamestop refuses to carry it for some reason). It is amazing! I mean essentially its just a compilation disc, but Samurai Shodown 6 alone is worth the price!

I've been playin' CoD since the first, LitePink, and it was one of the very few games I've actually played the entire Single Player campaign all of the way through (CoD 1 three times, CoD4 twice). I skipped CoD:WoW, as I felt like you, that it was more of a sidestep, plus I just didn't like the "feel" of it when playin' the "beta." Wasn't a fan of the sound, either. CoD 6, er Modern Warfare, or whatever it is called is probably the only game I can think of right now that I know about, comin' up. I don't pay much attention to that stuff, usually.

Did you ever play the Heat of Battle Mod for CoD (1, UO and 4), LitePink?

your talking about the PC arent you? because PC games are just gross.

kidding, kidding. i am just so in love with consoles. people can argue to death why PC games are better but i wont listen, even IF they are right :D anyways, no, i didnt play any mods, since i am assuming thats PC-only. i will admit that i DID start at COD4, but went back and played 2 and 3. i was unaware of the developer change though, until after i had dabbled in each. i didnt like the "feel" of three, a lo and behold thats where treyarch took over. and even though WAW used the COD4 engine, it seemed to have a similar feel to three. looks cartoony ever so slightly.

COD4 has the best multiplayer EVER, but i absolutely loved the single player too. fun and engaging.

forgot to mention some Wii games i am looking forawrd too (:eek: there actually are some)
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat remake and punch out. while my husband is more of the punch out fan as you guys might have seen, i am excited that Next Level games is handling this punch out. they made Mario Strikers, which is probably in my top 10 favorite game ever.

I hope GhostBuster turns out to be a great game.

Ghostbusters has the potential to be quite good, but I generally intentionally steer clear of video games that are inspired by movies. They usually blow, heh.

Ack, really? What was his name, Frank West? I couldn't stand that ogre.

In defense of the Ghostbusters game, I believe both Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd are handling the writing, so we can at least expect it to be funny.

I'm not really excited for anything. Champions online sounds nice. I was excited for Bioshock 2 until I read the synopsis. Now I'm trying to convince myself that it was just an April Fool's prank that's been running for a bit too long.

One can always hope, right?

That Arkham Asylum game was kinda weird, it goes into slow motion every time i do a cool move, it actually makes me laugh, I feel Zak Snyder had a hand in it. lol but i love jumping behind enemies and beating the crap out of them, its awesome.

Well, heck, now that I got a new comp again I was excited to hear of a Battlefield 1943, since I used to play Battlefield 2 all of the time. However, I see that it's only Xbox and PS3 (for now, PC later) AND the max players online is 24. Not so excited now. Oh well. I guess the next big game I'll be waiting for will be CoD: Modern Warfare 2 after all.

Well WAW was the 5th COD so this is the 6th ;) no matter how much you don't want WAW to be part of the series it is

Kinda skipped directly to page 12 so not sure if this has been mention but Star Wars: The Old Republic (MMO) http://www.swtor.com/

My old roommate also introduced me to Heroes of Newerth, which is basically DOTA for Warcraft 3 but as a standalone game. It's currently in open beta (you get your beta invite by becoming a fan on facebook) and it looks pretty promising. The cool thing is that it's available on every PC platform (windows, linux and mac)
