DSI anyone?

Guys who has the DSI. It is so cool! But its a little expensve though. Mine was 170 dollars at walmart but for me it was worth it. I dont know about you guys but I love it!

hows the camera? i mean really, throw out any fandom you have and tell me if the camera is passable.

i want to get a pink one from Japan, but its $250! plus its a terrible pink. i agree that $170 seems to be a little high. i wonder how well this will do at that pricepoint.

The cameras ok but its still cool when you tweek the pictures. And for your "color crisis" just by the cheaper one and put a pink skin on.

Japan always gets way more colors. i think they have like 5 DSi colors. North America is the largest market, dont understand why we get the shaft. ill probably just buy the black one and keep it that way. i love my original "candy pink" DS that i imported, never saw that one stateside. however, a few months after i imported the pink ds lite they came out with the identical color here only a few months later.

not looking for a perfect camera of course. i have my own and my iphone serves it purpose for most other things, but hey, DSi gotta camera on it for a reason, right? i wonder if the DSi games will be worth checking out?

Im gonna wait to see how the "virtual console" is for it. I think i'd miss the GBA slot too much. Plus currently I'm too busy playing Soul Calibur 4 and hunting down Samurai Shodown Anthology for the wii, darn you SNK and your ever pushed back release dates!

litepink, I agree with jay50mugger, skip the expensive import and just customize a regular one with a skin! My husband got me a pink DS Lite {yak! sorry, but I am NOT a pink girl} and I customized it with stickers and stuff, and now it looks pretty cool.

Well kind of. It dosnt have many yet but still. But if you have a SD card you can download music. I recomend it there fun.

Don't hold your breathe. The way the DS Lite has been selling, Nintendo has no reason for a price cut. Even with the DSi out people will still buy the DS Lite.

I believe if you import a japanese one, that you can only access the Japanese store on it. It's region locked.

agreed about DS Lite. if anything they will get phased out. however if there is an influx of DS Lites getting traded in for DSi's, supply would be higher and demand possibly lower. so maybe significant price drops on used ones maybe?

i just remembered that DSi ITSELF is region locked! I only have a handful of import games so definitely a black one then. Its funny, because everyone said Super Princess Peach was super easy, because the hint boxes told you precisely what to do. All of my hint boxes were in japanese so i never read them. made the game so much harder!! so if anyone hasnt bought the game yet, get it and just ignore the hint boxes for some challenge :p

Overall size has been reduced DSi is 12% slimmer than the Lite.

As mentioned, included is a 0.3 Megapixel camera (for 640 x 480 pixel pictures) and a VGA camera located on the hinge, directed towards the user. You can edit pictures using the touchscreen.

Full music playback functionality, including adjustable pitch and playback speed.

Both screens have been expanded to 3.25 inches. They are also brighter :D

DSi will allow users to download games from DSWare.

SD memory card slot for DSWare games, music, etc.

Downsides- battery life reduced slightly, as little as 3 hours depending on brightness. Also, the already mentioned region locking, and the GBA slot is gone.

We got it the first day. It was a little pricey, but not disappointing. The camera is fine for the size of screen it projects on, but if you want it for anything large scale it wouldn't work so well. Going online with it is cool slow, but cool. The DSWare doesn't have much now, but hopefully it will have some cool games. But if you have a DS already and don't need a new one then I say wait.

My wife, 8yr old daughter, 3 yr old son, and myself all have Ds lites. Considering I'd have to get 4 of them, I'm going to have to wait a few years!! Besides, for that kind of money, it's going to have to have something better than just a couple of cameras!!

I wonder how much they changed things compared to the japanese original.
Rythm Tengoku on GBA was seriously epic win, great game to play anywhere on your micro.
I thought Rythm Tengoku Gold was great too, but not as great as the first game.

if you got the cash to blow, then get one! if not, then wait til you do! the camera is fun, and im surprised it works as well as it does! even though its more about the games then it is about the camera and voice editing stuff, they are sweet added perks though!
it does of course lack the GBA slot, but i have plenty other means of playing my GBA games.
im a nerd and i NEED the newest things, so to me, its totally worth it. im sure other people dont agree though! haha!

for the record, as a huge warioware fan, i am super dissapointed in the Warioware Snapped download. at least it was free (they gove you 1000 points for free when you first get a DSi)

awwww, that sucks. there is a healthy list of good stuff about the DS, although i am getting sick of Imagine or Petz games, and the millions of rip-offs...

I will say its a little cheesy but i wasnt disapointed with wario ware.Its a good time killer.

I have one too :) I got the teal-ish one because my first Gameboy color was teal :D I love this thing it is great, my old pink DS lite and Old giant bulky DS broke (don't ask, my systems just go through hell :/) so I had to get another. I just think the missing GBA slot sucks cause I needed it for my Pocket Monster games...oh well I have a micro, but I can't use the dual slot feature :/

And as for the DSiWare they have a lotta cool stuff coming they have NeoGeo pocket, atari, gba, gameboy color and some swan thing I don't know about, but right now its kinda lame...I'd wait on it though.

DSI is selling ok but this article indicates that Nintendo is having some problem selling DSI in this economy. I'm still surprised that Video games sold pretty well in the first months of this year. Some people preferred buying video games instead of DVDs ($59.99 game over $19.99 movie??)

I think it finally caught up because since March Video games sales been rather slow.

DSi is selling well enough though, I know it started out selling like hotcakes(what nintendo portable doesn't?) Besides, I'm not worried as a Nintendo Supporter because they'll do well regardless of some slowdowns(which happens to every console at some point) plus, don't forget Christmas time everyone knows DS's sell like they're going out of style forever....DSi numbers will be insane once the Holiday's come again this year. No doubt about it.

Man, I just found out that Nintendo apparently had a new handheld ready (successor to the DS), but due to the success of the DSI, it's not gonna come out for a long while. Makes me wonder if I should even bother getting a DSI now or just hold out until this "new handheld" eventually comes out.

I wasnt going to get a DSi until a few games came out, but Gamestop pretty much gave me a free one. $70 for my lite, and i traded in a few olde games. So it was "free". Glad i did. all around better. Wouldn't of paid the 170 bucks for it. But if it ever hits 130 id def jump on it.
