I did this up quickly as I'm on my way to bed, but just got a PM asking me to explain. If it's confusing and anyone still needs help, let me know and I'll try to clarify and add screenshots if needed.
Avatar = That image by your name. The Might Muggs Forum Logo in my case.
Click on User CP (top left of the screen)
Click on Edit Avatar under Setting & Options (around halfway down the screen on the left side)
Go down to Custom Avatar and make sure the radio button is clicked.
Choose one of the following:
Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website
Here you can paste in the url to an image you've upload, or seen elsewhere (another forum maybe?).
Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer
If you choose this one, just click on browse and then find the image you want to use.
Once you've done this, click on save changes.
That's it! It should have worked and your new avatar should show up. If it was too large, it will have been resized.
