Overall size has been reduced -- DSi is 12% slimmer than the Lite.

Comes with an external 0.3 Megapixel camera (for 640 x 480 pixel pictures) and a VGA camera located on the hinge, directed towards the user. You'll be able to edit pictures using the touchscreen.

Full music playback functionality, including adjustable pitch and playback speed.

Both screens have been expanded to 3.25 inches.

SD memory card slot is included, and there'll be on-board memory as well :)

Will ship with a built-in Nintendo DS web browser.

DSi will allow users to download games from DSWare, a new service that operates with Nintendo





i wasnt too excited at first... but now i kinda am! im not sure when exactly it comes out... i think i heard next april.... wait, maybe late 2009. well that gives me some time to decide. im kind of a sucker for this kind of stuff. i want them to make a pink one in japan, because i will surely import it :)

GOOD NEWS! Just announced! The DSi will not be regional locked!

The only regional issue will be the ability to download games. So for example, if you have a Japanese system you will only be able to download games in Japan.

It seems that enterprising hackers have already destroyed Nintendo's best laid plans, having already cracked the new DSi with an R4DS-like device doing the rounds in Japan.

Acekard is new R4DS

The Acekard 2i lets gamers play illegally downloadable DS titles on their smart new matte-black or matte-white DSi, by storing the necessary data on a MicroSD card.

So while Nintendo celebrates the demise of the R4 threat, another new one raises its ugly pirate-shaped head with DSi.

There really is no way around this, other than hardware and software manufacturers clubbing together to discourage renegade retailers (such as Amazon) from stocking and selling such devices.

there are plenty of good games IMO, there's N+, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Picross DS, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, Disgaea DS, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (Platinum coming soon), etc... =)
