View Full Version : Private Message capacity increase

The capacity of the private message box is 100, shared between both the inbox and the sentbox. I frequently find myself having to go through and delete my messages because in gets too full, and it's getting to the point where it's just outright annoying. Was wondering if there was any way to increase the capacity, even just by an extra 50 or 100? It would be so much less time consuming, because I wouldn't have to go through near as often to delete things.

I agree. I use it to keep trade and sale records and don't really want to have to delete important ones unless I have to. Maybe there's a way to archive or export to a word/excel doc? I don't know, just an idea.

Definitely. Or just a seperate box that we can store our "saved" messages in. Come on Mods/Administrators! Help us out!

Seriously?? Wow, i didn't think that if it DID happen, it would be this fast. Ralph, you're awesome! I'll definitley post any suggestions for the site that i might have, more often.

yeah, Ralph is right, this IS a big increase on the server load.... what you guys need to be doing is downloading them as text files, or XML / CSV if you know how to work with those. But a text file is easy to work with, and saves having to worry about checking the internet for old messages if you have issues. Download the whole lot at one time, then delete ALL to have a clean inbox! I don't have issues with it running over 100 even with as much business and chit-chat I've done on here, so I haven't needed to download PMs....

My friends have run HUGE forums in the past, and never let the capacity go over 50 - some sites I've been to have a max of just TEN, so having even 100 is a lot!
