....Since the seller on eBay doesn't give ANY information about them specifically?

I'd buy it...but, yeah, needs more description for sure. The Rex prototype gun mugg doesnt look like rex.....hence the wings

the seller seems to sell lots of prototype stuff.....I would believe he is legit.

Same here. Looks legit, but I'd want more info before plunking down the coin.

I have actually purchased a Vision mugg from this seller about 2 months before its release. The sellers not the best with communication but he does come through!

From the pictures, I believe they are actually Transformer Mugg protypes of some kind. The "Han Solo" is actually sporting Jazz's car doors/wings.

This guy is legit. He is the source of MANY SW 3.75in rumors since he posts prototypes months in advance. Like Are-Jay said, he is not the best communicator but he comes through. These are def legit.

Interesting. I'm not sure what the purpose would be... they look cool but at the same time, it seems quite expensive for essentially blank Muggs.

The "Captain Rex" is clearly Starscream.
Why would you be what is essentially a blank Mugg for that kinda cash?

i think what your paying for is the weapon, not the mugg per se. still too much for a weapon in my opinion...but, this may float some peoples boat and i respect that.

Well, more the concept of it being pre-production and not the actual item found in stores. Hell, look at how some people hated the signed muggs I found! To each their own, but it is hard to argue that I was not better off spending the same amount on one of these before shipping for my signed SDCC Iron Man!

Don't assume what I would or would not do with my money

i think the "too each their own" phrase rings true hear. signed muggs, prototype weapons may not be for you at the prices, may be right for others.

your right, no one should judge what you should do with your money, unless you are asking for their advice. i guess wen you replied "too pricey", you meant it was too pricey for you. some may think that your sleeping wolverine is over priced too i guess. i think all of us would agree that signed items, prototypes, variants, un-released toys, production errors, and muggs at early availability are all of SOME interest to collectors, its that the price is debatable, but by no means judge-able.

so case in point:

@Garcia - some people (PK, myself included) may not see the value in these or other... uhhhh... "stuff", and I respect your opinions as much as i hope you respect others. i dont think you were trying to judge anyone but some people may get that impression is all.

I'm not going to debate the seller's legitimacy (as it seems others here have purchased from them before), but I still have to wonder - If someone is going to sell a "blank" mugg that they SAY is a prototype (and I'll assume that's true), you would think that there would be some kind of paperwork confirming it as such AND they'd take the time to figure out exactly WHICH prototype they are selling.

As to what people do or do not spend their money on: normally, I could not care less, but my question is legitimate: Why pay that kind of cash for this? "Bragging" rights? (without authentication, I don't see the point) To be a "completist?" "Big fan?" "Just 'cause?"
I'm curious.

I totally agree eggy I mean just I dont get it. I'm a noob collector and tottaly based on muggs right now but still for the rex gun just get a starscream. I might be totaly missing the point but thats my point of view.

Pink, I was not actually referring to that comment made in this thread. I was referring to a comment he made in the "What's up with the ads?" thread about myself saying I would indeed give money to the board to keep it ad free. But, I did not get a chance to respond before it was locked so.....

I own quite a few Mezco, Funko and NECA test shots and prototype figures. So I am all for these things, just not a Mugg that looks like a normal blank for the most part for $80-90 bucks :)

Yea these are for a real die-hard who has every mugg and needs something new to collect. I think they are kind cool but not at that price. I still think they will sell.

i have bought many many prototypes and early releases from this guy before and as other said, his communication (and english) isnt too good but the items he sells are good quality, legit prototypes. But his shipping is outrageous.
