I was wondering who Biggs Darklighter is. I'm mostly looking to collect the troopers, and he caught my eye also when i first saw him. The more I look at him though, he looks nothing like a trooper. Is he just a pilot??

Biggs is a chump. He couldnt even survive a plane crash. What a puss.

Biggs' stash is clearly the best in the saga -- Lando's can't hold a candle to it, neither can the Hoth'ed-up version of Cliff Clavin from Cheers. However, Biggs' piloting skills will always be in Wedge's shadow. Why they went with Biggs instead of Wedge, I'll never know...

Yeah since Wedge survives everything. He never gets careless.

The only reason they made biggs instead of wedge is probably because the distinctive mustache.. Wedge would look like luke in a pilot uniform.

Totally wrong, Wedge has green eyes for one and uses a grey-green trimmed helmet. They would have made him easily.

Sorry, but if you have to tell him by his helmet, he's not that distinctive looking. Fact is, as much as I like Wedge (as a character), he is about the LEAST distinctive out of all the rebel pilots featured attacking the Death Star, and I'm including Porkins, Red Leader the three Y-Wing pilots (Gold Squadron) and even John D.
Wedge DOES get some (heh, totally unrelated) credit for being Obi-Wan's uncle. ... Heh, ok, maybe not WEDGE, per se, but Denis Lawson. ;)
Though it has been debated and mentioned before, Biggs' 'stache (and eyebrows) makes the Mugg. One of my favorites. ;)

Wedge has like a 5 oclock shadow too. If they painted him to look exactly like the actor he would be unique.

AND the box would have to be created so that it would break up upon any contact with the ground.;)
Incindentally (and keepin' with the original question), here is actor Garrick Hogan's (the guy who played Biggs) web site for his portrayal of Biggs (there isn't TOO much, but you can see what he looks like now ... no 'stache!) ...

And the Wookieepedia listing of Biggs Darklighter ...
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Biggs_Darklighter
What I find most interesting about the Wookieepedia listing is the details of all of Biggs' adventures AFTER he deserted from the Empire and joined the Rebellion. This happened AFTER Darth Vader captured Princess Leia's ship at the beginning of Star Wars (A New Hope, if you must call it that). Biggs' Rebel "career" (according to Wookieepedia and chronicled in SW comic books, I'm sure) seems to take place over at LEAST several weeks. Is there ANYone that had the feeling that Star Wars took place over several weeks, from the time Luke Skywalker got involved to the time the Death Star battle took place? Heh, being generous, figuring Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan and Luke took a few days to travel from Tatooine to (the remains of) Alderaan, and The Death Star taking a few days to get from (the remains of) Alderaan to Yavin, I just don't see it. No big deal, I just find that amusing. :D
