Who do you hope your team gets? I'm a Steelers fan so I know they wont be making a splash in free agency as usual.

I hope they get rid of their cancer and get a decent backup for Tony Romo, ideally one that is going to push him to take the game more seriously. ... and it would be nice if they could snag Ray Lewis, but that's not going to happen.

BINGO.
The REAL change that should've happened was that Wade Phillips (nice guy though he is) should've been the FIRST out the door, and Jones should've opened it wide for Mike Shanahan.

Kurt Warner is ACTUALLY visiting my Niners on Monday? This is too weird...
I think we're purely leverage in negotiations with the Cards.

I cant see the Cards letting him sign with the 49ers...but it could happen

Yeah, I think we have potential. But I just can't see Warner signing with anyone who he doesn't think are Super Bowl contenders right now. We weren't even close to the playoffs this year. And the Cards...well...what they accomplished was unusual.

I blame Nolan. Alex is still young and could be good if he just stays healthy. I'd like to see him back on the team, as what he should've been in the first place - QB of the future. The Niners can win with Hill, just maybe not win it all. Warner would be fantastic, but I'm very skeptical.

Love the cowboys but all I can do is scatch my head. A starting corner for a back up QB. I don't get it I mean I like kitna over brad "captain check down" Johnson but they lose versatilty without henry who was rumored to move to safety, a real weak spot on the defense.

Well, even though Kitna isn't a spring chicken, he is certainly a step up over recent Cowboys backups, and his recent starting experience might push Romo a bit into becoming more of a leader. Kitna's familiarity with Roy Williams cannot hurt.
As far as Anthony Henry is concerned, that guy drove me nuts. Sometimes he was freakin' brilliant and sometimes I wondered if one of the equipment managers stole his jersey and tried to imitate him on the field. Still, considering the fact that they're gonna dump Roy Williams soon, and they weren't exactly deep at safety OR cornerback before all of this happened, I have to scratch my head, also.

Haha, I think this Yahoo article sums up my feelings at this point pretty well:
Come On, Kurt, you're not going to San Francisco (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Come-on-Kurt-you-re-not-going-to-San-Francisco?urn=nfl,145178)

Great article.
At this point I really dont care if Warner comes to the bay or not. I just want my team to have a winning season!

Heh, after I write the "Kitna ... might push Romo" I heard a guy on Sports Talk this morning that said that Kitna's first statement after being signed was basically, "I'm not here to push Romo ..." Jeez. If it wasn't so upsetting, it'd be funny.
It's amazing how bad some owners can be, year after year. The very fact that Kurt Warner would even THINK about visiting San Francisco (or ANYwhere else) just continues to prove that the Bidwell's (who own the Cardinals) are among the worst owners in professional sports. PAY HIM THE MONEY, ALREADY, IDIOTS!

I almost laughed ... but you're probably correct. :p
Never liked T.O., but I have the same question that "professional" sports talk radio guys always lay on their listeners when that listener calls up to say "fire the coach!" - Who are the Cowboys going to get to freakin' replace him? What a mess.:mad:

They have Roy E. Williams who they picked up last year...and whitten of course, probably be better without him.....Ahh Oakland were good players go to die..ie randy moss

Roy Williams? Yeah, like I said, Who is going to replace T.O.? Besides, THERE is one prima donna waiting to spring forth again, now that he's no longer under T.O.s shadow.
and the others ...
Patrick Crayton? Does any receiver do a better "disappearing act?" If that guy was half as good as he thinks he is, he might be a decent ballplayer ... consistently.
Miles Austin? A nice third or fourth wide receiver.
Sam Hurd? Will he come back from injury and become the terrific FOURTH wide receiver that he was before?
Jason Witten is terrific, of course, and their other tight end, Martellus Bennett, really showed some talent last season, but if your tight end is your leading receiver, really you're not going to go very far. Besides, Witten's miles are adding up quickly.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not sorry to see T.O. go. Talent-wise, the Cowboys took a big hit by releasing him. Team Chemistry-wise, it only goes up from here.
I still think they need someone to kick Romo in the butt. I also think that now that Jerry Jones has admitted he made a mistake with Owens, he should just go all out, dump Wade Phillips and hire Mike Shanahan.
I think he'll go to Indy, they are the only ones that have the money and need a receiver.

Possibly, with the release of Harrison, it could be possible.

It's interesting how the majority of Prima Donnas in the NFL are wide receivers.
I don't remember that when I was growing up. Oh, I hated Swann and Stallworth, but they weren't real jerks. Neither were Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, Golden Richards, Harold Carmichael, Cliff Branch, Steve Largent and others. I think it started with Jerry Rice, a quiet Prima Donna, and really took off with Michael Irvin.
You might say that the changing of media coverage over the years has contributed to it, and I'm not going to disagree with you there. In the end, however, it all comes down to the men themselves. A Jack-a$$ is a Jack-a$$ no matter the era.
