So me and mrbighead went mugg hunting today going north east of san diego. We went through 8 Stores and only managed to get the black eyed luke skywalker...
Scary part.
We ended up in a rural dark and creepy area note that there are no houses or lights for another 8-10 miles (navigation route). If youre from San Diego we ended up on Proctor Valley Road. You can just google it for the hauntings and stories but anyway it was a 10 mile ride through bumpy rocky dirt terrain NO CEMENT and at one point i almost lossed control. I have to say the scariest thing i have ever been through in my life. I drove through it with my WRX STi. Low Gas, No signal, semi bald tires. We are dumb.
Why did we do it?
We dont know... The navigation told us to and we JUST WANTED TO GO HOME and the stories behind Proctor Valley did not hit us until we were 5 miles into it. Also the ironic thing is we were talking about the Road and stories we've heard 2 stops before because we saw the sign in the darkness and somehow we ended up going through it.
Well thats about it thought I would share.
Oh yeah forgot to mention on top of that we went to a Wal-mart that did not exist. :(

i googled it! EEK! although one site said there was a monster, several different ghosts, a demon car...seemed like overkill to me, i like places with one "story", but nonetheless scary stuff. i read a story about a demon car there and it gave me the chills . reminded me of some stories i have about Mystery Road 660 in MN and Ness Church (google them too). i might post my story sometime if anyones interested.

Well...
Story 1:
I remember in 98 there was this reenactment on one story of proctor valley on urban legends.
Basically a Couple go to the middle of it and the car ends up dying on them. The guy tries to find help and the girl stays in the car. Her boyfriend was gone for a couple hours and she noticed a rustling scratching noise on the top of the car. She thought they were trees and in the darkness she ends up walking the whole way to find help. The next morning they find out the noise she was hearing was her dead boyfriend's finger nails scratching the top of the car and supposedly the "Proctor Valley Monster" did the brutal attack.
Proctor Valley Monster: Been around for centuries from farmers noticing their cattle being dragged for miles decapitated and their internals completely devoured. There is a picture of one of his supposedly found footprint... http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/images/030824monster.jpg
Story 2: Happened Recently but also been around for a couple years. 2 Teens decided to test out one of the stories and ended up seeing "Ghost car." One of them sees one of the car coming from afar but ignores it. eventually the car catches up with them near the end of the road and noticed there was no sign of a body or a body of car just headlights. And when they ended up on the cement road the car stopped looked as if it were backing up until it was completely gone in the distance.
Story 3: The hitchhiker. A girl hitchhiking in the road and if you dont pick her up supposedly you will never reach the end of the road with your vechicle.
Story 4: MOST COMMON around here... The girl with a blue dress and f'd up face. I dont know much about this but Ive heard MANY stories about people seeing this and are speechless about this.
I think theres more but thats all i can think about right on the top of my head
that shiz was so scary

Story 1 sounds like the average story I have heard many versions of over the years from different parts of the US
Story 2 not so scary, could have been anyone screwing around with them
Story 3 is by far the best. I might have to go check that out during SDCC. How far is that from say, Hotel Circle?

Yeah defiantly creepy stuff i know someone thats been in the demon car incident but didnt care to believe him because i have never heard that type of story until it was later posted on the internet
pumpkinking. I would have to say about 30-40 minutes down the 805 south.
I honestly do not believe most of those stories when its in the back of your mind thats the part that really creeped me out
I honestly tried to go through that as fast as i could. The Terrain was so horrible. At one point of the ride I was going 5mph because it felt like 1000 speed bumps

hhmm that sucks. I don't like off roading. :)
The old TNT area where Mothman was spotted was terrible to drive as well. Old dirt trails really and dark as shit. Lucky for me I had a truck back then.

No really, maybe park and walk a mile? Possible? I don't know how the road is set up. Is it an exit of sorts?
Kramps
02-20-2009, 10:54 PM
its one way back and forth. No intersections for 10 miles. I would have to say just walking half a mile on that road you must of big balls for that because its already pitch black BEFORE you even get to proctor valley

I have flashlights. You don't understand man, my wife and I like to "investigate" this kind of stuff. I read a ton of books, watch shows, search the net etc as well as live encounters when and if possible.
10 miles and what is at the end? Dead end? No pun

Its basically you go in and then you go out no short cuts...
Here...

The bottom is the end. Or you can start either way... If you were to visit you would start from the bottom to the top only because it is easier to get to from the freeway

mystery road 660:
basically its a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. when you put your car in neutral your car gets pushed forwards or backwards, depending on the direction you are facing.
i have been here many many times and it always works.
some people say its some sort of magnetic force, but i dont think so.
the first time you do it, you go slow, but the more you do it, the faster you go. and it feels very rocky.
our steering wheel turned all the way one way, then all the way back the other way. it was very jerky, and it just kept turning. its very hard to describe.
but one night we got a bunch of friends piled in a van. we did the whole “getting pushed” thing. then all of a sudden a truck or something showed up behind in the far distance. it was going so fast, it was all of a sudden right on our tail. and of course we were all freaking out. i swear it would have run us off the road if we would have let. then we finally got onto a concrete road, and it just stopped. it wouldnt go any farther. we stopped and watched it for awhile, and it just sat there.
another time we went the same thing happened, this time with 2 different sets of lights. people might think we are dumb for going back, but im obsessed with the thrill of it. but after it happened again there we decided to leave. we stopped at some tiny “scary” local gas station. and we decided to go to this other place called “Ness Church”. its a very very very old church (of course in the middle of nowhere... dirt roads and all”.
of course this place has a few stories of its own. one being that a truck shows up and chases you away. and another is that a little girl names annie haunts the place and she sits on top of your car.... sounds lame, but i have a story about that...
anywho, we sat outside the church for a few minutes, and of course, its always foggy there. just looking at this place it scary. i usually hide my eyes under a blanket. but after being there for a few minutes, the same two old trucks showed up and chased us.
to this day i am so confused as to how they could have been at the same two places as us. and again, once we got to a concrete road, they stopped. its so weird that they just show up in the middle of nowhere. it gives me the chills just thinking about it!
other time at Ness church we were sitting in front of the church waiting for this “annie” to come sit on top of our car. we have never seen her before so we didnt know what to think. but we waited, and didnt see anything. again, a truck showed up, we freaked and drove away from there. as we were driving i flipped on my flashlight as was flashing it out the window, and written on the outside of one of the windows in little kid writing it said “look at me”. it just looked like it was written with small fingers. you know how when a car is dirty you can write on it with your fingers. the even more creepy thing is that it was on the window right next to me!
ugh, sorry if this sounds confusing, because it kinda is confusing. sorry if there are spelling errors or anything, its late and i dont feel like proof reading. ill do that tomorrow. hehe. i have some more stories as well. but i will post this for now while i type the others :)

Wow! That is a winding damn road! Thanks a lot. I saved that.
Looks like the easier way in is the bottom getting off the highway, as you stated. We could park a little way in and hike it. Thinking maybe a 20-30 minute hike and then back. See what we can see.
Many thanks. I might PM you before the con. :)

I need to write a lot of stories here. Going to take some time.
Now, I don't know where each of you are as far as time zones, but I am less than 2 hrs away from 3am. You all know about "dead time" right?

okay, me and my husband bought a Ouija board. i didnt really intend on using it at home at first. although someone supposedly committed suicide in my bathroom.... i dont like to talk about that, it creeps me out. (thank goodness im moving is all im gonna say about that).
but just for kicks, we tried it here one night. we sat at the dining room table. and we asked the obvious question "are there any spirits here"...... nothing happened. we left the game out on the table with the pointer piece directly in the center of the board. we went to a twins game that night, and when we came back, the pointer piece was directly over the word "yes"..... after we asked if there were any spirits.
we were scared, but also very tired. so, we left the game out again, with the piece on the word yes...
after we woke up the next morning, the board was on the floor upside down.
so now, i dont allow the Ouija board in my apartment. i keep it in my garage. and when i move next week i dont intend on bringing it with me, so i will be putting it up on ebay. i am NOT taking that thing with me!!!!!!!!
by the way, i still have more stories. i used to write alot of my stories on a site called strangeusa.com. but i never really wrote anything about the things that happen to me at home or things that happen to my family. but if you guys want more stories, i got tons!!!!

Creepy break in at a old abandoned part of the mental hospital. Part 1 (cause we did this a lot)
The faculties they used to house mental patients during the late 50s and into the 60s were left standing, boarded up. They had new buildings a little ways off. Now, the hospital was in a weird location in town, right down the street from my house for one, but it winded through and connected to another old road. Later, they actually built a public swimming pool there on a golf course lot with the damn mental wards running right through it. Amazing. Anyway, we would break into the old abandoned buildings and look around. Most were in what would resemble a old school house with two levels. We always found lots of scattered paper work everywhere, bird feathers and bird shit. Sometimes you got lucky and found old wheel chairs to race etc
What was most disturbing is in one large room they had several rows of cages. Like for a pound maybe? Only, these were not for animals, they were for humans! As we looked through them there were old dinner plates, crayons, cups, pillows etc. Turns out speaking with a neighbor ,who worked as a nurse there before retiring, that long ago when people got old and had no family instead of a nursing home, they would be sent to the mental hospital. After a few years of being subjected to that behavior, they too would start having behavior issues. What they found out was the place was filling up quickly and the new "normal" old people would get the beds and the 'crazies" would be put in cages on a temporary" basis.
That is not a ghost story, but it was perhaps one of the most shocking discoveries I made starting out in this research of the paranormal. And that was good, if you could call it good I suppose, for further findings. Since life in a cage, not being properly taken care of tends I would think, to cause a lot of pain, sadness and suffering. And yes, death. I think you see where this is going....later

We mostly went during the day. They had too many "residents" who would end up loose to be there at night often. Hence, wheel chair races were cool cause nobody was freaked out.

there is a stretch of road between tucson and phoenix right before the town of Florence in Arizona. It's a relatively straight road driving straight thru the desert...little to no scenery and at night it is DARK. So me and the ex were driving home from a visit at a friend's house. I was tired and dosing off in the passenger seat and she was driving. out of no where i hear "holy shit, really?" i look up and see a girl probably around 19 years old standing in the middle of the road, naked. this is no joke, i kid you not. it was around 11 maybe 12 at night, pitch black, cold, the road is only 1 lane each way and is VERY deserted. effing freeky. we didn't stop. sorry nakey lady, i like my breathing
