View Full Version : Exclusive to a store that doesn't carry them

So, I'm frustrated right now with the bad luck I have had finding the Target exclusives. It seems that none of the Target stores in my area are in any hurry to order/stock/shelve the new "Target only" wave. Only two of the five in my area has had any noticeable change on the shelves at all. That tells me they aren't even making an effort to stay current. The only reason I am frustrated is because Hasbro made a deal with them to be the only retailer that has these, so because of that, I think a certain level of responsibility and fair timing should be executed on Target's part to shelve these on a regular basis.

And yes, I do realize how obsessive all that sounds.

Have you taken the Muggs they have out to the price scanner to see if they have any in the back and then asked them to check in the back for you if they do have them? Explain it is a Target exclusive and you can't get them elsewhere, and note the red stickers on them. If they don't have them at least ask someone to order them in for you, possibly. That's all you can do.

I can empathize with you. We only have one Target in our area, and I went there at least half a dozen times just to see if they had the exclusive Muggs. Nothing. I finally broke down and got them on ebay (which will probably mean that all of the exclusives will be there the next time I go to Target...) But anyway, I actually didn't pay a huge amount more than they would have been in the store, although I did have to buy the entire wave of 8 including some that I already had.

I have C3PO, Biggs Darklighter, and Bossk for trade now, the others can kinda be found within my area. If you could get a hold of a Black Suit Spiderman, then we can do a trade?

Which target exclusives do you need?

do what 12ounce said, and if the workers say they cant go in the back...go back another time with a different worker, and if no one goes back talk to a manager and explain that you have $$$ in hand and the other muggs wont sell.

Yeah, that's the frustrating part - some clerks will help, others won't. I don't push the issue if they tell me they aren't allowed to. Its really a management issue. Maybe I should explain to management they are exclusive and maybe they will bend the rules.

haha. Yeah that's murphy's law. I bet three months from now we will see these same Muggs overstocked at Target. I guess I just need to remain patient.

Thanks. That's good advice. One worker told me the last time they put everything out that they had in the back, he saw one person buy up multiples of all the new ones sticking them with even more duplicates of the ones already on shelves. So one bad apple wrecked it for that Target at least. I guess that's why they leave boxes in the stock room, to help spread it out.

He also told me that Mugg collectors aren't as bad as the Hotwheels/Matchbox crowd. He says the same four guys come and wait for the truck on Mondays and Thursdays. Sometimes they are friendly, othertimes they are crazy.

Waaambulance... Be patient or try another Target. Worst case scenario you'll have to buy them at cost plus shipping here in the classifieds.

No worries, all Targets will stop carrying Muggs if that piece of news is true...

i had that kind of issue before, finnaly i got hold to the manager...they did not have what i needed in back, so he called up the warehouse and had them hand pick the ones i needed and he held them for me! Best CS i have had at a retail place! If they say they can't, tell them then to get you the person who can....and then say to them "your names ____ ok thanks"

heh, i've encountered a hotwheels guy and the Pixar Cars guy before at my Target too. They seemed pretty relaxed. Yeah sometimes Target will look for you other times they won't usually it depends how many are on the shelf. if a lot they say everything we have is out. if a little they check. wal-mart never checks. k-mart never checks. TRU never checks. both marts are not nice about it either (shrug) TRU says they want everyone to have the same chance....

went to a target i usually dont visit yesterday...

They were complaining about having to stock all the SW muggs (theres at least a 5:1 ratio of SW to other muggs there). They were excited when i started going thru their muggs before they had to shelve them.

I got them to go into the back for me, but it was a lucky moment, as there were zero G.I. Joe muggs on the shelf. Scored a case that way :D they just brought out two boxes and dropped em on the floor :P

and about TRU... I had a supervisor checking stock in the back for me yesterday. he was more than happy to :D all i did was offer to give him a nice write up on their online survey :D

The reason wal-mart won't look is that it would take them forever, i use to work for the buggers, and their backrooms are a PITA to go through.

I was at two different Targets today and both had zero of the exclusives. One had about 6 Maces and two Hoth Hans. The other had two Hoth Hans with one open. I really only want a Snowtrooper, but I know if I buy one off the internet, I will find one the next week. I would have no problem asking a clerk, but have yet to see one in the area of the toy section.
