Has anyone played the new and updated version of Risk with new pieces and rules? I was looking at a board today, but realized it wasn't the same as the one I'm used to playing. It looks like they have more or less switched to this new version entirely. Is it worth a crap? TIA.

Hmm, we got one a few years back. It's a slightly different board (same countries though), and has some really cool pieces, but I don't know that the rules are different. There are two or three sets of rules. Heck, when my friends and I used to play it a long time ago, we pretty much adapted our own set of rules anyway, BASED ON the actual rules. ;)

I just am talking about the capital city rules and what not that have been added. I don't think the rules are a drastic departure, just some new pieces. I am not sure, though.

Ah, yes, then that's the set of rules we have, because I remember the Captial City version. I've only played it couple of times (Mrs. Eggs isn't a big fan of games), and I don't think we used that rule.
Looking it up, we have the 40th Anniversary Edition, 'cause the pieces are metal and very nice.

I might just get the Clone Wars edition of Risk. Different map, but same principles. Would still be fun.

I didn't even know they had a Clone Wars edition until I looked it up earlier.

They are coming out with a Halo Wars version too. Wow, Risk is fun, I haven't played it in a while...
