I think that boy looks like he's my eight-year-old son's age, and I cannot even imagine what on Earth can be going through his mind now. His dad says it's time to have the "birds and the bees" talk with him. "Some may say it's too late," dad says ... yeah, no kidding, it's too late. It's quite sad, but it's a lovely little baby.
It's difficult for me to get angry at this. Yes, it's terribly wrong and, frankly, I have to wonder what kind of parenting those two kids got, but it's just incredibly sad. I wish that little baby the best. I wish the little father could've just continued to be a kid.

Yea it's too bad the father won't be able to experience a real child hood like he could have had. I'm not getting angry either, this makes me more upset than anything, the kid looks 8! He said he didn't even know what he was doing cause it was his first time. I blame the 15 year old mother, she should have had more sense than that.

this is old news...the crazy thing is that a day or too ago, they found out that there is another 14 and 15 year old that are also claiming theyre the father...probably a publicity stunt, but just makes it that much more disgusting...he may have the record for being the youngest, but you add a year to two to his age and this sort of shit happens all the time in america...whats new with our messed up world?

I guess he never expected his 12 year old son (who looks 8) to get laid.

No, it says he stays at his girlfriend's house now, ostensibly to help take care of the baby. He didn't live with his father, just his mum.
Regardless, it's not like they had to be alone for long. If there is one thing I've learned as a parent, it's that no matter how much you want to, you cannot be with your kid(s) 24/7. However, you CAN teach them correctly so that you don't have to be.
I don't underestimate a 12 or 13 year old (my wife teaches junior high school), but it'd be easier to think of him that way if he didn't look so darn young. Damn it, the only things a 13-year-old should be worried about are his grades, which Mighty Muggs to ask for/get, what time his favorite tv shows are on and his folks/siblings, NOT how to change a freakin' diaper.

I could only find this quote:
Chantelle and Maisie were released from hospital yesterday. They are living with Penny, Chantelle’s jobless dad Steve, 43, and her five brothers in a rented council house in Eastbourne. The family live on benefits. Alfie, who lives on an estate across town with mum Nicola, 43, spends most of his time at the Steadmans’ house.
He is allowed to stay overnight and even has a school uniform there so he can go straight to his classes in the morning.
I couldn't find anything that says that he lives there with his GF. You were right, I thought he lived with his dad, my bad.

There is no way they SHOULD understand the gravity of the situation. They shouldn't be IN this position, but they certainly should've, at the very least, been prepared for it. TOLD about what would happen. THAT is the problem. The bigger problem is that even with good parents, that tell their kids EVERYthing and teach them correctly, there are still kids (and these ARE kids, sorry if you're the same age, but) that will do as they will regardless, and won't learn it unless they live it.

It's better we all take little hits as a nation (when paying more taxes) rather than taking big hits as individuals (when paying for a huge, bankrupcty causing bill).

No, what we as Americans lack is the initiative to take responsibility. Why should I have to pay for everyone else? Everyone just wants things handed to them today, like they "deserve" it, just for living in the country. No, you'll deserve it when you get off your ass and start working for it.

That is true about the telling us what to do, people shouldnt be telling us what to do.
I guess im a lil naive when it comes to people.
I don't like to think that theyd take advantage of the system and all that crap, cuz they "deserve" it...
Wouldn't we be making the same sacrifices tho? Us lazy ass people with no initiative to take responsibility? Wouldn't we be paying the same taxes (that will cover the healthcare costs) you hardworking responsible asses do?
Even if we're paying for a bunch of other peoples' needs, aren't we paying somewhat less in the long run?
Also, wouldn't your mind change if you lose your job (do to sickness) and don't have a way of paying your medical bills?
Maybe i need to look more into the whole universal hc thing, look more into restrictions and stuff, but I'm just saying the idea of having that security, of not going bankrupt because you are unfortunate enough to get sick to that point...that's a good thing to have.
We don't know the people who will be hospitalized by our tax money, we can't say they're lazy ass unresponsible people just taking advantage of our system. Of course there are people like that, but to assume that the majority is like that, idk again i guess im a little naive....

You might be paying the same percentage of taxes based on your income, if you're even paying taxes at all, but definitely not the same amount as my family and I (not you, I'm talking in general).
If I lost my job due to illness, I would already be receiving disability and unemployment insurance/benefits. Why would I need any more help? And if Obama did adopt this which he DOES want to, why would any one want this? Even in Canada where they have Universal Healthcare, the big guys in power say that it's the worst thing they could have ever done, by instituting it.
If I can afford it why shouldn't I be able to pay for private healthcare?
Why should I have to walk into a hospital or doctors office and wait hours and hours on end for other people, who I'm probably paying for, to go before me?

geez... the parents are to blame.. parents should be strict and parents should at least educate their children about the consequences of starting a family at an early age.. if it needs scaring them then they should.. thats what my parents used to do when i had the knowledge bout the birds and the bees thing.. over and over again they reminded us that if we do decide to have our own family they wont be there to support us.. start a family and we are out of the house.. coz thats what their parents used to teach them... my parents when they started to have a family they told us they have prepared for everything without relying on their parents(our gramps).. the problem with these kids nowadays they are so confident and not afraid to start their own family at an early age because they believe that their parents would be there to take care of the baby.. my suggestion educate them if they need scarin scare them..

So, last night I just happened to be watchin' TV (I don't watch much, but my wife's Novelas were over and I was with her), and they had some clips of a brief "interview" with the kid, his daughter and the mother. First of all, the pictures do not lie, he not only looks 8, and he's half her size (even allowing for recent pregnancy). Second, someone asked him about what they were going to do, financially, and he said "what's financially?" and the girl laughed. So cute. :(
They then said that his dad sold the pics of him and his baby to one of the British tabloids (should have assumed that, of course). No word on the amount.
I feel more sorry for that guy and the baby than I did. Everyone ELSE, however, get nothing but my disgust.

geez... the parents are to blame.. parents should be strict and parents should at least educate their children about the consequences of starting a family at an early age.. if it needs scaring them then they should.. thats what my parents used to do when i had the knowledge bout the birds and the bees thing.. over and over again they reminded us that if we do decide to have our own family they wont be there to support us.. start a family and we are out of the house.. coz thats what their parents used to teach them... my parents when they started to have a family they told us they have prepared for everything without relying on their parents(our gramps).. the problem with these kids nowadays they are so confident and not afraid to start their own family at an early age because they believe that their parents would be there to take care of the baby.. my suggestion educate them if they need scarin scare them..
I know what you mean, though, in a different way. My parents always told me if I did f*** up and get a girl pregnant they would be there to help and take care of it. They always told me never to have an abortion or to be afraid of telling them.
They did tell me however, that my life would be ruined if I did get a girl pregnant. They made it abundantly clear how it would be nearly impossible to fulfill any of the goals I have planned for my life.
Ohh, and they constantly remind me to use protection. It's freaking annoying and embarrassing.

Turns out the kid isn't the father. Apparently, there weren't just a couple of other guys waiting in the wings (so to speak), there were several. And, again, I believe I don't need to say anymore about the girl/mom.
Oh, and after hearing more about the boy/ex-father well, I don't feel sorry for that kid anymore, eithe

dude, the mom doesn't even look 15, she looks a bit older, or maybe it's just me. whatever, but sex at 12? wow. . . then again there are those who do get pregnant or become dads even at that age. it's just saddening to hear because i bet that some parents don't even talk to their children about sex and they leave it all up to the school, and when parents FINALLY do talk to their kids, it's too late, because they're already sexually active. i mean that's how my parents are, they never talked to me about sex when i was starting high school, when they should have, or at least i preferred them to have. i know it'd be awkward but at least they would be talking to me about it and how to be safe and whatnot. i had to just learn on my own. i already knew the consequences and i don't want to deal with that. it's a really big responsibility to have a kid, in my opinion, when you have a kid it's like you have to make sacrifices, i know it probably doesn't make sense because i'm not very good w/explanations and all, so sorry; but think about those teen parents, they can't really go out much and just hang out w/friends because they now have a kid at like 16 or whatever. . .my mother just BARELY decided to talk to me about it when i'm like 18 now. to me it seems as if though there are a lot of teen pregnancies out there now, ranging from like 13-17. it's crazy!

I'm sure this is old news but he's not the father according to this link and I've seen this on other reports, too! But either way it's gross!
