I just bought some yesterday at TRU. At first i was debating on buying them, but after seeing them in person, it was a must buy lol... Any of you guys planning on collecting these?

If I see a Punisher I'm gonna grab him. And that's only because I remember reading somewhere that's he's supposed to be rare. So maybe he'll be worth something some day. Other than that no, I won't be buying any, I gotta save my money for Muggs.

Looking like one of the best comic lines ever, especially after the announcements this weekend.

Punisher's head is way too big. The articulation is extremely disappointing. The prototypes looked like GI Joe bodies, but this crap isn't even close. Ugh. :(

There's a better Punisher coming in the next wave.

Also, it might just be that one figure. Because it's pretty well known that the articulation is great for most of this line.

chckboy5

yeah the punisher is bad, but the others are getting good reviews

yeah, was it like 30+ this year? lol

watts
02-15-2009, 10:29 PM
$9.99 in Canada
if they were half the price I may have considered but since 6-8 inch figure were costing that 3 years ago...
it is hard to find interest in these.

I've heard the argument "it is the same size as Star Wars" but that line is more bulky & occassionally comes with accessories or bases.

Pumpkin King
02-15-2009, 10:32 PM
SW line is getting a bit pricey for the size as well

Pumpkin King
02-15-2009, 10:32 PM

Yes, and there is already a Captain America exclusive announced. Probably at SDCC.

chckboy5
02-15-2009, 10:39 PM
also same size as GI Joes... i agree they are overprices, then again a lot of toys r expensive these days, 6 inch figures are usually 10+

Pumpkin King
02-15-2009, 10:42 PM
I pick and choose with the SW line of 3 3/4 figs. Mainly the Clone Wars animated stuff

Those are part of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine line, but yeah, they're also 3 3/4". Those are from wave 2, and they look a lot better than wave 1.

yeah i dont care much about that line too, but i like the classic wolverine in the brown, deadpool, and iceman.

Pumpkin King
02-20-2009, 07:32 AM
I have not seen these at Target yet and I don't shop at TRU. I will treat it like the SW line, pick and choose. No way I can be complete on so many figures.

Muggs for me, in terms of importance are:

Marvel > Transformers (when they come out) > GI Joe > Indy wave 2 (I have wave 1) > Star Wars.

But honestly, Marvel Universe will probably end up being between Marvel Muggs and Transformers Muggs, if not ahead of everything. This is such a good line of figures.

DaMightyMaster
02-20-2009, 09:57 AM
this line looks pretty sick. hopefully it's not done to cheaply. but it will get expensive with 30 figures comin out in one yr, better start get that overtime in.

chckboy5

the punisher in the first wave is the ugliest, i like iron man for the first wave

ZeoVGM

The street date is DEAD. Hasbro has told retailers to release all the new stuff.

I was just at the Walmart in Raynham, MA and saw boxes with stuff like WLV COMIC FIGURES and MVL UNI on them.

Some new Hasbro stuff, like the Spectacular Spider-Man ooze fights were already out.

I'll be grabbing the MU stuff in the morning!

I'll look around for new Mugg waves tomorrow too.

chckboy5
02-20-2009, 10:20 PM

Aight so I got a set in from BBTS and first off i gotta say there pretty tight w/ the exception of punishers big ass overly detailed head. but one complaint i have is that it seems like hasbro is just using gi joe molds and painting them differently. but there are some obviously original pieces too, just a thought. best one in wave one i would have to say is human torch. that sh*ts on fire... now when i put the hairspray bottle to the Corps. figures(remember the wanna be joes from walgreens. haha) the flame could come from a real flame thrower.:D

chckboy5
02-24-2009, 10:50 PM
yeah i punisher is the worst figure, the one in the later wave is so much better

chckboy5
02-26-2009, 10:27 PM

chckboy5
02-28-2009, 12:13 AM
i dont want the wave 1 punisher, wave 3 is so much better

J.Lantern Corps

Oh yeah I think I saw that one, he is in a all black outfit and has a better head sculpt no that i think about it i will probably wait for that one as well he might be easier to find too.

As of today, my Hasbro Marvel 3 3/4 figure collection stands at this:

Marvel Universe
Wave 1
001: Iron Man
002: Spider-Man
003: Silver Surfer
004: Punisher
005: Wolverine

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Wave 1: Comic Series
Gambit

Wolverine and the X-Men
Wave 1
Avalanche
Colossus
Iceman

Very happy with everything so far. I grabbed the only Gambit I saw at TRU and despite the lack of articulation, the Wolverine and the X-Men figures are cool. They look great on display. I don't mind the articulation issue considering they're for the younger crowd.

Took some pictures, I may post them later.

i was kind of intersted in these. but, i've only seen them at k-mart so far. at their 8.99 price, no thanks. all i really wanted was punisher and maybe a few others if they looked good. but, the punisher looks like a bad cartoon. it's horrible! every other figure looked pretty cool though. i still may end up picking some up.

I wanted to get some of these but that price is ridiculous. The larger Marvel Legends were cheaper than that back before Hasbro got their hands on them. I remember paying around $7 for the first waves of ML. These 3 3/4 guys should be $4.99 each. I won't pay $8 each.

are you kidding.

They made them that small for a reason... (3 3/4)

so you can go into the store and stick them in your inside pockets of your jackets!..

How do you think I get all my 25th Joes!?! You think im gonna pay $6-10 each for a tiny GI joe. NOPE.

in the jacket he goes.

$7.99 at TRU, which is a fair price.

But yes, Punisher sucks, but grab him if you can. He might be the most rare of the first wave, since they're doing a new Punisher soon.

i bought some more tonight on top of what i got last week ...went to walmart to get puppy pads (lol) and went looking in the toy isle and saw they had put out all of the new lines ...wolvy and the xmen, xmen origins, and marvel universe ....looking at the MU line they had put out wave 1 and 2 so i was able to get some of wave 1 i did not get previously and pick up a few from wave 2 ... tonight i got red and gold iron man, black panther, spider man, captain america, green goblin, and ronin ....they had iron fist and grey hulk as well ...then with the origins line they had basically all of those including the weird deadpool with no clothes on...lol... but walmart looks like they should be putting them all out this week if yours hasnt already ....and to the people saying the price is too high you're right because i thought the same thing when i first started buying them .....and then i opened one .... they are like mini marvel legends and are sweet as crap out of the pack ...the animated figures are way too pricey for what they are i will admit ...i opened magneto and am very disappointed in him but i kept icey in his pack ...i think if your not going to collect them all get at least 1 character from the MU line and open it ...just watch out...you might fall in love lol ...i love them just wish they were a little cheaper ...they also need to release all of the girl figures and get going on them ...at least give us a stormy, jean, x-23, psylocke, elektra, someone other than ms marvel and firestar =X

not impressed with this figure line at all!

Rockslide
03-03-2009, 10:32 AM
Its not the economy, I hope you were joking with that. $4.99 is a fair price. There are plenty of other lines out there using just as much plastic and packaging at $4.99. $7.99 is a kick to the head. The larger ML's should be $7.99 each. When the new 25th Anniversary Joes first hit shelves they were at like $5.89 at Wal-Mart which is a fair price. Then they became so popular that they kicked up the price almost instantly. It wasn't the economy or hard times, it was popularity. They figure they can sell the new marvels at the same price point. I just know that personally, I'd pick up several at the $5 price vs. picking up none of them at the $8 price. I'm not the only one.

There are some REALLY nice 3 3/4" figures out there (Target has some great Military figures, highly detailed, with great packaging), but the prices are more than steep nowadays. $5? Sure. $8-9? The figures aren't THAT great. ;)

ZeoVGM
03-03-2009, 11:11 AM
lol @ anyone who thinks these honestly had any chance at being $4.99.

Really, $7.99 is not a bad price. Prices go up. That's life. If you can't afford it, that's fine, but it's really not uber-expensive. Even my mother thought it was a good price.

not impressed with this figure line at all!

Spoken like someone who hasn't touched the Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Spidey, or X-Force Wolverine figures. :P

Green Eggs and Death

Prices go up? Holy Smoke, that explains it!

Heh, no kidding, and after awhile, it's just not worth it anymore. It wouldn't be a big deal if it was ONE item, but when it's a whole line, well then you make choices. One choice is not to worry 'bout it and save yer money for something else. Unfortunate, but oh well.

Saw these today for $8.44 at Wal Mart......

I must say, some of these sculpts are nice....but the scale is so small, it makes it hard to justify the price tag IMO.

Interesting character selection for waves I and II Nice to see Black Panther, Ronin, Bullseye and Iron Fist!

Anyone know if there is a Thor in the works for wave III or IV, and if sho...which costume?

Which other toylines use that much plastic and have the same amount of articualtion?
The cost is also more becasue more seperate parts need to be made (pins for the joints), and more seperate parts are molded for each figure.

Just picked up Cap, Wolverine, Spidey, Bullseye, DD, Black Panther, Punisher, Iron Man (both Red and Blue)
Iron Man, Cap, Wolverine and SPidey are really nice. Punisher looks RETARDED! His head is huge!

I do like these but I'm more into the 6 inch legends more. I picked up deadpool and gambit from the movie line and I like those. Gambit is just sick to begin with because its the comic style gambit and also with deadpool. I really was iffy on picking up the MU ones cause the ones I saw had poor paint jobs. I really want the xforce wolverine cause I'm a big fan of xforce, but I wish they weren't so tiny. I guess it be nicer to see them next to the galactus BAF from ML

Yeah, forgot to mention him!

BUT!!!

As of last night, I am ONE figure away from having every single MU figure released thus far: Bullseye. I read he's hard to find though.

I also completed the first wave of XMO: Wolverine by finding Deadpool at Walmart.

So now I just need Bullseye from MU and Beast and Magento from Wolverine and the X-Men.

Hoping to see MU Wave 3, XMO Wave 2 (movie figures), and W&XM Wave 2 (X-Force Wolvie and Nightcrawler) soon.

I picked up Hulk and Capt today. So that makes four for me. Capt, Hulk, Stealth Iron man and Bullseye. I am stopping there until some go on clearance at online shops. You know, Ronin and Johnny Flame will be in abundance in a few months. $7.99 is jst crazy.

I went on tuesday... totally dry :(

Wow. Well that was last Friday, and they had at least a handful of Black Panthers. Man, I didn't know they were so popular, but they did look cool.
Heh, I suppose I could've figured they were so popular by just lookin' at this thread and, really, that's the only reason (this thread) I even noticed them in store.

Pumpkin King
03-12-2009, 11:57 AM
I see Black Panther every time. I think everything is dependent on your area and such. If they are anything like the SW figs, they will all be easy to find eventually.

Any info on these? I have heard Bullseye is hard to find during this thread. Why is that?
I love Bullseye and the TBolts. I was lucky to find him early on. But still, I wonder if he is really hard to get or just dumb luck.

I have no idea what people are in what wave or anything, but I was looking at these in Target yesterday (didn't look today when I went in) but there were 3 or 4 Bullseye. I saw quite a few Punisher between Target and Walmart yesterday as well.

I don't know. If anyone wanted me to look for anything around here, send me a PM and I'll look tomorrow while I am out.

I live in a place not many people on here live, so I might be lucky enough to find something for you guys.

My boys and I were looking at some more of these tonight. Grey Hulk, Human Torch, Iron Man, Cap, Ronin (whoever that is), Silver Surfer, Spider-Man ... they all looked pretty cool. Well, you're probably not eight-years-old.;) It's just a phase, as we all have ... heck, we never stop going through phases! Lord knows I've blown enough money on crap over the years and, yeah, I agree that the Bakugan stuff ... well, I don't understand it. It IS cool when the thing comes apart when you stick it on metal, though. LoL.:D

Back to your regularily scheduled thread of figures with missing knee ligaments (Union Jack :p) ...

There was 2 sets of wave 3 out here at a Target in Cali. When I got there there was only 2 Classic Iron Mans, a black suit spidey, a hand ninja and Ms.marvel classic. Anyone else find Wave 3 yet? Cause I know I usually find toys after they have been released everywhere else. :/

This is where I buy stands from for all figures 3.75. They are pretty cheap and have a choice with color :)

these are hot because they are doing characters that are obscure and just plain weird.

like who?

all of these characters appear regularly in recent and new comics, so who's weird?

I can't wait to get Ms. Marvel!!!!:D

There were two DIFFERENT Ms. Marvels at the Target at the Rim yesterday afternoon. They weren't hangin' up, they were just lyin' on the shelf. I almost hung them up, but I ignored my old "retail employee" instincts and left them there ... and then promptly straightened out the Mighty Muggs. :o

Its because I bought them all in your area. I will scalp them to you at 5x retail price if you want.

I found wave 3 today. I bought six of the seven different ones they had. I left one of the two Ms. Marvel variants because of bad paint.

I know I've been out of comics for awhile, but when I saw Ms. Marvel sittin' on the shelf, my first thought was "Ms. Marvel?!?" ... and then I saw the SECOND verson! It's funny when people here talk about certain Muggs that are "obscure" and that Hasbro should've made more "mainstream" characters first, but there's no talk about Ms. Marvel? And ... TWO of them? ROFL.:D

No offense, of course, ELestat. I hope you enjoy yours. ;)

Well, in an interview in ToyFare, it was specifically stated that they intended to make obscure characters of the marvel universe that have never really been distributed much as a figure. So obscure figures, along with the populars are going to be in this line of figures

04-07-2009, 08:57 PM
eh... ronin I would consider a 2nd or 3rd level character.. same with black panther, definetly the ms marvels and union jack, moon knight would be a 2nd level I imo

I agree with you but look at it from a kid's standpoint. Kids know spidey, ironman, hulk, wolverine... all of marvel's heavy hitters... what kid really knows ronin and ms marvel?
