i use Krylon acrylic clear coat spray.....the matte kind...Personally, i'm not a huge fan of gloss so you'll rarely see me cover my muggs in Gloss unless a certain part needed it

I was going to suggest the Krylon clear too. The finish is up to you though, either matte or glossy.
