I think i cried a little inside. Those Muggs must be set free from their crumbling homes.
As a loose collector i wouldn't care at all :)

That really stinks. Shows how well the stocking team takes care of merchandise.

You know, as a stocker/merchandiser/store employee you have to know that you cannot put merchandise like that out on the floor. Forget the "Hey, if the box is beat up can I get a discount" customers, that just looks bad. I sincerely hope that was just some punk kid that bashed in those boxes. Of course, that wouldn't account for the han solos in good condition underneath them. Anyway, that's just bad.

I concur...poor taste to put them out there like that.

It must not be easy being a toy by the looks of it. Even for a loose collector like me that is still sad to see a perfectly good toy like Mighty Muggs have their box all crushed up like that. I saw the same Hulk I saw at Wal-Mart yesterday with the ENTIRE top cover ripped off.
These people need to show some more respect. :(

Wow. I've never seen anything displayed that was in that bad a shape. Well, the Kidrobot Simpsons toys at UO were in horrible shape, but this looks much worse than even that. I play with my toys, but i'd still want a nice box for display.

It looks to me like the box they were shipped in was crushed. But as Green Eggs and Death said, you can't put merchandise like that out. I'm a mint collector, and I can't stand seeing things like that. It just makes me mad, whether it's employees or customers that ruin boxes and sometimes the toys just to get a look at it, and then don't even buy them.
Those boxes really need to be sent back to the manufacturer to be repackaged.

Stores DO get credit for unsaleable merchandise.

Wow. Either there's some retard children beating up the boxes, or the Target employees don't care too much for the items they sell.

It made me sad. Bossk and Biggs were also messed up, but not as much as the pictured muggs. I was amazed they put them out.

Honestly, it's usually both. I once saw a guy rip open a Boba Fett I really wanted to get, just because he didn't understand what they were. Messed up the entire top panel.
Also, as Green Eggs and Death said, when a store sends back merch, they get the credit for it, so that's really just employees being very lazy, which is unfortunately often the case.

Those were soooo done on purpose. I despise idiots that destroy boxes in hopes of making that item more "rare".

those are the worse looking muggs ive seen up to date...slightly smashed corners or box cutter slits are bad in my book...these made me cringe a little, geesh...

im sorry, we can blame the workers all we want, but this looks intentional. all the other muggs underneath look fine. id buy them at half off maybe.

the hoth hans look fine, but theyre from a different shipment also...but still, theres no way i can see how the box as a whole being damaged during shipment could possibly yield such different damgae individually...cuz if you imagine them packed in 8s in the box youd think that only one or two (at most) out of 6 sides/surfaces would get crushed...not 4 or 5 sides/surfaces...definitely fishy...

 Ok, it wasn't poor stocking. Just some maniac that decided he'd destroy that set of Muggs, that all just happened to come in the same box. Lord knows a box could never be crushed on more than one side.
I've changed my mind. It was either Gremlins (likely) or elizabethlestat hereself, tryin' to stir up controversy (MORE likely). ;):p
I'll have to check out the crime scene myself to be sure. Which Target are these at, Estat? And, yes, I WILL be dusting for prints.

lol it must have been gremlins, because my hands are clean.
I was at the Target at 151 and 410 Eggs:p
Buy them for half off and take them out of their beaten homes :D

Why would you think this product would even sell? Even if you take it out of the box. It's kind of like when you buy cereal. You buy it for the product inside, but you'd rather have the box that looks less traveled compared to the one that look like a bat went at it.

Wow, I can't believe this is up here. I was just there earlier...and judging by the picture I was there after you because I tried to "fix" the Snow Troopers box to see if it would be worth it. Since he was the only one I needed I decided to hold off and try to find them elsewhere. The sad part is that's where I got the other exclusives from and they were perfect.
The Plo Koon and Solos have been there for awhile so these must have come in the same case damaged.

I just noticed that there is no Teebo. My son expressed his wishes for one and, naturally, it's the only one of the Target Exclusives I DIDN'T pick up a couple of weeks ago. :o

I doubt that a store employee did this, because in this economy who would want to lose their job over bashing in some toy boxes..I mean really? haha And I know the big box stores like Wal-Mart and Target both get their daily shipments in on pallets containing many boxes of merchandise. This box of Muggs may have been on the very bottom of the pallet, being crushed by who knows how much weight. And these Muggs are great fodder for asking for a discount and for displaying...just ask to see a manager or something, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give a 10% off to get rid of some damaged packages. Unlike Wal-Mart, I am under the impression that Target owns their inventory, so sending a toy back for "repackaging" is out of the question--its much easier to offer a slight discount rather than sending the toy back to Hasbro/China or having it sit on the shelves (even longer). The two Muggs I have out for display are ones I got w/ damaged boxes...I like searching for a Mugg deal :) Even though it is sad to see some boxes in such deplorable condition (and I've seen worse), look at is as an opportunity for getting them even lower than $8.99!

You are correct, the only thing in stock that Target does not own is food.
You could ask to get a discount on those, like Claudius said, and you'd more than likely get them.
But, as to what I said about the employees, it really is likely that they put them out like that. It all depends on the store and how the team is run, but I've worked at some where they'll put out almost anything, even if it is damaged.
I bet you could get 30% off if you tried hard enough though!!

Actually I'm 90% sure there was a Teebo, but his box wasn't nearly as bad so he didn't end up in the picture. I'd call first because someone may have bought him. There isn't one at Culebra & 1604, Bandera &1604, or The Rim. You could try the one on De Zavala, I haven't been by there in a while, so you should call them too :)
