you can paint the hair down to have the effect that its overlapping to the shoulders, works very well if done right

actually I just did that a few minutes ago. It wasnt too bad. I cut off the wings with a very sharp knife. Exacto knife would work well. Then I gound down the rest on a grinder.

actually, i do have aves apoxie an fixit sculpt. I have been customizing figures for a few years prior do i have some experience under my belt.

but im afraid that if i use apoxie or fixit, it wont look like hair as much as a cut helmet would.

and can someone post some pics of customs that have hair painted down past the head?

I'm looking to do the same thing actually. (only fir kit fisto's tentacles) what kind (brand) pf sculpey should I buy? I know sculpey is a brand but dont you have to cook it in the oven for it to harden. This would be a really great tip to have.

I asked this a while ago and on guy uses that Mighty Putty from the TV infomercials. I may try that.

yeah, super sculpey has to be heated by a hairdryer for a long time, put into boiling water, or in the oven to harden. I find that aves Apoxie Sculpt works well for sculpted details on figures but Fixit Sculpt works better for things not attached to the figure in all places. (ends of hair, horns, spikes, etc.) Fixit is much more durable and can stand up to rough handling a lot better.

Craft stores only carry SuperSculpey and othe cheaper sculpting compounds.
