If Hasbro decides to drop Mighty Muggs...

i know there is a thread about the possiblity of Muggs ending this year but...

If the rumors are true and Hasbro drops Mighty Muggs, I wonder if the guy who creates MM's (I can't think of his name) can take the Mighty Muggs concept and bring it to a different company.

I know they won't be able to make SW or Marvel Muggs, but they may be able to produce totally different lines (DC maybe?). I wonder if Hasbro would be able (because of various contracts) to prevent him from going elsewhere with Muggs. It might be a good thing Hasbro is dropping Muggs...

Hasbro owns the rights to the name and design of the figure itself. So, it would have to be similar, but different to avoid a law suit. Still, I doubt it would happen regardless

Muggs wouldn't be Muggs if they weren't SW or Marvel.

Even the GI Joe and Transformers Muggs don't seem like Muggs to me.

If Hasbro owns the rights and don't want to produce any more muggs, another company could come in a buy the rights from them.

I don't see why Hasbro would turn down money if they have no interest in continuing to produce Muggs.

The price would be too high . Hasbro would not want another companies version to be confused with theirs either. Even though they would have stopped producing them, they want their own quality matched.

If Muggs end, i'll be sad, but I can accept it. I'm already way too Mugg crazy as it is, and it might be for the best.

With that said, I hope when-and-if they decide to stop, they take a good look at their line-up to do an intelligent "final" wave for who is really essential to finish the series with.
