I use acrylic paints(dark colors for base coats)
Epoxy and Super Sculpey both work for added parts and if you look at my tutorial for the predator I have a blank Mugg image I got from Ralph that you can right click and save :)
Hope that helps my friend.

Also get yourself a very fine brush if your planning on tiny details. and the "masking" technique helps in a big way. Acrylic paints. I a gree.

im using citadel paints. and it works best for me. for accessories, you can be creative and resourceful for that.. some old scraps can be turn into some heavy weapons. :)

I have been using spray paints for plastic. Seems to work great.

i dont really that the paint type matters too much. As long as you use a tiny brush and paint on many thin coats, you should be fine. And if you want it to look glossy, just spray on a gloss or matte (even they have a slight sheen) finish.
IMO Aves Apoxie Sculpt or their Fixit sculpt are the best sculpting compounds out there. Those two dont require baking or heating like so many other brands. they can be ordered on the site : avesstudio.com

to mask, just use some painters tape and paint along the tape, not against it. (to prevent some paint seeping through)

QUESTION: have you tried customizing your own image on a mighty mugg?
