I'm really not suprised any of you poor guy's & girl's in the U.S can't find any of the new Star Wars Target exclusives at your local stores.......................They have already been scalped & put on ebay! They should just change the sticker on the boxes to "EBAY EXCLUSIVES" When is this bulls**t going to end??? If hardened Muggers cannot find them all over the U.S at there local stores then there can be on one explaination, & you can damn me for saying this, I don't care.......................... - SOME , (NOT ALL)TARGET MANAGEMENT & EMPLOYEES ARE PURCHASING THESE MUGGS THEMSELVES & MAKING A QUICK BUCK ON EBAY. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Hopefully, if we all pull together through this forum we can all get what we need. I feel for all you fellow muggers, I really do. Oh, & to all those who have tried to sell Punisher & Jigsaw on the forum for £30, YOU ARE ALSO A DISGRACE, & IF I EVER MEET YOU IN THE STREET I WILL KICK YOUR SORRY BUTT'S! Peace out.

yeah, ive been appalled at the ridiculous markups on ebay already, but hey, as long as there are people willing to bid and buy them, theyll be there...im not too worried about getting myself a set, but more worried for the people paying those outrageous prices! sorry for all of you that dont have access to targets either...
i was wondering though, the first person to bring this wave to our attention claimed that he bought a set from an indonesian ebay seller...do they even have targets in indonesia...because if they dont, maybe you international people will luck out and it will just be a normal wave opposed to being a "target exclusive"...

No Targets in the U.K, & I saw some being sold from indonesia on ebay & they had Target stickers on the boxes.

I just pay attention to Marvel. How many exclusives does Traget have? Is it an entire wave?

Part of the problem is the people who gladly pay the markups. If scalpers couldn't make money off of muggs, or any other toy, they wouldn't bother with them.
As long as a collector is willing to pay, the scalpers will continue to buy everything they can get their hands on.

I can see some tension is growing here. But I have to agree. Why bother to get an entire wave of toys that collectors could get in the store, and just sell it on EVIL BAY. Not being mean, but I hate Ebay. The only reasons why toy collectors go to Ebay is because they can't wait 2 weeks until that new wave comes out, so they just have to brag to every one on forums. The second reason is because they missed an old wave and don't appreciate what they already have, so they have to BID. I hate bidding because you never know for sure if your gonna get something or not. And has anyone here ever seen on the news that some one tried to sell a live baby on Ebay? I mean come on... This is why when I buy anything online its something from an online company. Such as Big Easy Comics, Big Bad Toy Store, Hasbro Toy Store, etc. If anyone here has an Ebay account I'm not trying to offend you. I'm just giving my opinion.

Here's a question for those of you that live outside of the USA: Have the previous "Exclusives" been on sale anywhere in y'all's area? It's a tricky question, I know, because I believe that Punisher and Jigsaw are the first "Exclusives" that are not aimed at Comic Stores and the San Diego Comic Con, are they not? So, really, let's just focus on Punisher and Jigsaw. If you don't have a Toys 'R' Us in your country, have they been available somewhere else?
I'm asking because while this latest Star Wars wave is Target "Exclusive" here in the USA, and Punisher and Jigsaw are TRU "Exclusive," it's because we HAVE Targets and TRUs. Perhaps the "Exclusive" part just means "Exclusive in countries where those stores actually exist." I'm wondering this since, as stated, this latest SW "Exclusive" wave (the FIRST SW Exclusive wave) was first reported not in the USA, but outside the states, and they didn't come from a Target. Perhaps there is hope for y'all outside the USA ... hope that doesn't include Ebay.

We in the U.K have to rely on the generosity of fellow muggers in the U.S/Canada to aquire exclusives if we refuse to pay ebay prices. It's strange though with other particular muggs, for example, I can aquire Venom over here really easily & you strugge everywhere else! It's messed up!!!

well...its unfortunatly its not just muggs involved. Its spreads across everything. a few years ago I remember looking for the new TMX elmo for my son for christmas. They were sold out everywhere. except craigslist and ebay for like 4 times the price.
Also dont forget about the wii and PS3. I for one am used to seeing rare items sold for tons more....so it doesnt bother. I just wait till I can find it myself. sometimes it involves taking a half day from work so I can be at the store when they open.
either way, its just a patience game. some people are happy to pay the higher prices so they dont have to find it. Others, like me, enjoy the hunt.
as far as store employees hoarding the toys so tjhey can make an ebay sale....well....usually stores have rules that an item has to be on the helf for like 48 hours before they can buy it themselves. that way they cant cherry pick. and the number of people that do buy it all up...I bet is very small percentage of the managers/employess. atleast not enough to worry about stock levels at lots of other stores.

We cannot bitch every time a exclusive Mugg comes out. First it was TRU with Punisher/Jigsaw and now Target SW.
I have been in the same Target at 8am six days straight and not found any. Yes, it sucks, but I will find them in due time. Let others do what they wish with them if they find them. I am going to wait and find them for $8.99 each plus tax. :)

It's simple supply and demand with the ebay f***ers. If we don't give in, then they cannot sell and it would be stupid economics for them to keep buying them up when they can't even move them on ebay. Don't give up, take the time to search you may get lucky and find some. The rush of finding them is more than just buying on ebay. The hunt is a big part of the fun guys.
I for one will never buy another mugg on ebay at a premium. Case and point, I won an auction for the Punisher/Jigsaw set a week ago at a premium. Some thing was up with they guy's paypal account and the transaction never went through. And just yesterday I found both of them at a TRU. I would have been paying a 64% mark up just for these two...ridiculous.
Just my 2 cents

All the employees have to do is call somebody to come to the store and pick them up for them.

yeah but then they dont get their employee discount...not to mention its just another step in the process that makes it more of a pain. Still, I doubt enough employees are doing this to make a dent in anything.

For myself, I've found some things on Ebay (sold only in the UK or Asia) that I wanted for one of my sons, that I never would've been able to get in the States. I mean, they don't carry and would never carry this stuff, so Ebay isn't all evil. However, I'm with the others. If people are going to buy it, someone on Ebay is going to sell it ... at what eventual price is up to the buyer. ;)
Sucks about Pun/Jig/Bossk and co. not being sold elsewhere ... but are y'all SURE they aren't going to be just yet? After all, they've really only been available HERE for a very short time (heh, the SW group only in the last couple of days). Perhaps they WILL appear in some form. Have any of y'all UKers tried emailing Hasbro and asking them about it?

You took the words right out of my mouth XanderCrews!!! And why would employees of Target be worried about not using their discount Ninja Mugg??? They would make alot more money than that on ebay anyways!!!

well it seems the solution to this is simple, just get a job @ Target...or any other store where the exclusives are coming out so you can get them before others....orrrrrrrrr
we could all just be patient eventually you'll find the Muggs or ebay prices will level out. Mighty Muggs are hot right now, so collectors and scalpers are going to be on the lookout, we just have to outwit them. I don't check for Muggs everyday, but I do get up early on Saturdays and hit about 5-7 stores when new waves are slated to come out. It makes finding Muggs much more fun! I do wish shipping costs to the UK and abroad were a little less expensive so that we all could help each other out more...maybe we can all meet up half-way, in the middle of the Atlantic :)

my point is that i highly doubt that managers and employees are the reason for mugg shortages....

yea, i agree..most places have strict rules about purchasing things w/ employee discounts and reselling for a profit...even if some do at some places, there are like 1500+ Targets and a gabillion Wal-Marts hehe I was being sarcastic about getting a job at some place just for Muggs..although it might help a little

I am sorry to hear about how these are becoming harder and harder to find HOWEVER please note that these are NOW just hitting ALLOT of Target stores. I work for Target and we just got them in today (three cases of them as each case contains 8, 3 reissue and 5 exclusives). So please, do not lose hope that these will not be found and if you are going to worry, worry about the collectors who are after these because they know their worth. They will hold onto these and watch the price raise and IF the price should not go up as much as they wanted, they will return them (they use to do this with cases of Hot Wheels all of the time so much so that stores had to stop them returning cases as they would open them and pick out the ones that are hot and will sell).
This is also why I hate (and I mean HATE) exclusives. I am sorry but these were made for those of us who enjoy the characters and priced low enough that almost anyone can collect them. However, you get into exclusives and that all goes out the window. How do you counter exclusives? Reissue. Period! Look at Venom, he runs well 2-3 times his retail price. HOWEVER, reissue him and see how much he brings. Star Wars Stormtrooper run around $20 and now there is rumor that they will be reissued. Guess how many dealers will be clearing their shelves of Stormtroopers when this happens? Sure, some will keep the $20 asking price and say that these are first issue figures, however how many would you buy when you could be getting 2 figures for that price? Point and match. Bottom line, reissue will be what keeps the price of these down otherwise if you think that $40 for a Venom is bad, how about two or three months down the road when all of the Target exclusives are gone (yes, some will sell higher than others but even the lesser characters will bring a very good return for ones money if a reissue is not done somewhere down the road).

I work at Target and we still haven't received the new exclusives yet. At Target, we don't have to wait 48 hours or anything. We just have to be on break or lunch to buy them. There are a few people who collect muggs at my store, but no one buying and selling on ebay. And I guarantee none of my managers even know anything about muggs, let alone Target exclusive ones.
The Toy's R Us in my area on the other hand is full of employees who do this. I remember Target stopped carrying series 15 and 16 of the Simpsons figures I collected. So TRU was the only place for me to go. I never saw any even hit the shelves. I went to TRU yesterday and asked about the Punisher/Jigsaw muggs. The guy said they were taking a truck that night. My girlfriend went in 30 minutes after the opened. They had 4 additional muggs, but no Punisher/Jigsaw. They probably didn't get any in, but I always feel like that place hoards everything.

I think a lot of the fear and paranoia is a little silly. I see it as actually a good thing if people are hoarding and buying up tons of muggs instantly. That means the line stays successful and they keep making and reissuing (thanks saint) many more muggs in the future to come. So what if you don't own every mugg to ever be produced? That gives you something to "quest" for in your old age.

people hoarding is not good, cause we collectors would buy it anyways if they didnt hoard it, so either way, it sells... its all about reissues, i hope they reissue everything haha

I do think you're a jerk if you walk into a Target and buy all 8 brand new shock troopers, haha- however! - I do think you should have the right to do it. Its your money, you should have the freedom to do what you want with it- even if you are a jerk.

I know at our Target it IS policy that all items HAVE to be on the shelves before ANY employee can purchase said item. While this may not always work as such, it is a known policy and is enforced by manager, LOD`s, Team Leads, and the such. Truth told, I think this should be policy in every retail store across the board (but then again, I also think every Mugg should be reissued...exclusive or not).

I've sold about a 14-20 Muggs on Ebay over the last few months. I always make the starting bid $9.99. I remember selling a Boba Fett for $9.99 (1 bid), and the next week , selling one for $16 (6 bids). It's a lot of hit and miss sales. I had 3 extra Yodas, sold them for $31, 27, 10. I don't feel like I scalped them, I just needed to clean up! In the end, you list the item, and the world takes over. If the car you drive has the Blue Book value of 5K and a guy at work says, "I love your car, I gotta have it. I'll pay you 8K for it," do you tell him to buzz off? Hell no! You march his wanting butt straight to an ATM.
I think Claudius summed it up when he said to wait for something to level off. There are some that you might not be able to wait around on, like the SDCCs. Otherwise, cool your jets and wait. Ask anyone who's paid $25 for a Cody, and now they're reissued. (The Price is Right losing anthem plays in the back)
Now, if some turd feels like a superior entity by being the first guy on the block with a new Mugg, screw him, let him pay $80 for a Mugg he can get for $10 in two weeks. No need in holding the seller responsible.
As for the 'inside jobs' where Target Employee X unloads a shipment, finds a box of Muggs, pulls out certain Muggs, shuffles straight to the register, and then goes home and lists said items for $50 each...kill him. You can lose you job with that stuff. Of course if the 'turd' from earlier hooks up with Target Employee X, what can you do?
Here's my rule: Don't hoard and if it's on the shelf, it's open season. If you and another guy walk up on some Jigsaws at TRU, don't snatch all the Jigsaws and haul ass, just to put them on Ebay and make a buck.
