The Phantom Stranger (custom number 4)

Here he is finally. The Phantom Stranger. I took a lot of inspiration for this one from the shadow work on Fullers shadowed batman. Because likewise the phantom stranger is one of those characters that just sort of appears out of the shadows.

And if anyones actually read some of his books (or more recently Shadowpact) he seems to frequently do these rod serling-esque 4th wall breaking monologues. So I slapped one together as well.

Kool looking Mugg, are you the same guy that did the Hitman Mugg? Either way this style of Mighty Mugg looks great and it s a nice change. Id love to see other characters with that type of shading, Like the characters from Street Fighter IV, they use that heavy inking in that game and you have the style down pat. Nice Job

I'll be starting Stingray soon. Then the weirdness magnet himself, Blue Devil. And if I ever get the vision I ordered from Hasbro I'll start the Ultimate Moon Knight I posted comps of. Oh and Im also planning on an Earth X version of Moon Knight.

I did make a regular Moon Knight (hes in my gallery, you may recognize him). Ultimate Moon Knight will be sick, but Im also really psyched to make earth x Moon Knight (in the earth x universe MK is shown to have actually died and didn't truly come back to life. instead vibranium had been making him a sort of living mummy/ghost) hes got the MK cape/cowl, but his body and face are mostly wrapped in mummy like bandages.

Great use of the shadows. Much better than my attempt at it! I like the muggs that look like they came from the actual comic book pages. You pulled it off beatifully!

Thanks guys. It was strange leaving so much black on the mugg. One thing I learned is not to overpaint the shading. When I did the first pass on his face, he looked like an old wrinkled man. I went back over it with decidedly less shades and it looks much better.
