So I called a Target that's about an hour away (I'll drive that far if they're rare), and they said that they have Star Wars, Marvel, and various GI JOE mighty muggs. I hung and started getting ready to go. GI Joe muggs and this early, sweet! I decided to call back so they could hold them for me, and a different lady answered and said they actually didn't have any, and never did. Good thing I called back. Speaking of Target they got the naming rights for the new Twins stadium. Now we have Target Field and Target Center (Timberwolves)

I checked the Target near where I live today and nothing either (on Joes). They did however have the newest Star Wars wave so I picked up an Anakin. He is pretty cool looking. I'd love to get a Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow once they come out.

i knew they werent going to be out for quite some time, but i thought it was strange that they said they had them. just goes to show that you cant really trust people when you call. i have so many stories about how dumb some workers are. haha

yea like when i called for mighty muggs, and they wanted to send me to the housewares department or whatever because they thought i was talking about "mugs".... cups... even though i said toys about 10 times.
they still insisted i was wrong!

what do you guys use to explain what it is?
im always on the phone like "uhhhhh its kind of an action figure but its not, JUST CHECK BY THE ACTION FIGURES!"

when i call i always describe them as "chubby action figures". and i say they come in rectangular boxes... i dont call too much anymore though, its too hard because no one knows what i am talking about.
by the way, i think they come out in november.

I found all 4 of the GI Joes at Target near where I live in Minnesota which is a miracle in it's own right. Picked them up and got a discount. Saved $8.00 off total price for some reason.

I picked up all four and the only four at my local target in Nebraska. I'll have to agree with you that Cobra Commander doesn't even compare to the awesome looking designs of Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes,

shared my story in another thread but i talked to a super nice worker and he went looking for them (because they were not on the shelves, not backstocked, but it said they had 8).
target has transition pallets full of various toys, and only break them down once they move there christmas clearance out.

I hate Target. Last time I was there, they refused to go into the back for me because I'm a "collector". First of all how to do you know I'm a collector. And second of all how is my money worth any less than some one elses. To top it off. My mom went for me later and the same worker went in the back for her. We showed them! Sucker!

the guy who helped me and my hubby knew we came in all the time so he "rewarded" us by going into the back. we got the run around two other times from different workers, and once i called a different target and they knew where they were but just refused.
some places reward parents, even if they are the type who are getting "that gift" for christmas for a kid (for example), or are just airheads (for example). they should reward the collectors who CONSISTENTLY buy products (wouldnt they want the repeat sale??)
at least you got them, but still. i was thinking of writing a letter to show my appreciation for the special treatment that i got, maybe they will learn.

I was in a Target this afternoon with my boys and a sales assistant went into the back to look for G.I.Joe Muggs that the Price Scanner (that customers can use) said were there. He said they come in a variety pack (heh, I knew that, of course) and asked which one I was looking for. I was holding a Cobra Commander (and there were three Dukes on the shelf), so I told him Snake-Eyes. He came out, after looking, and said that the box was pretty smashed up and showed me the Snake-Eyes, which also had damage to the box. I thanked him and took it (my nephew ain't gonna care 'bout the box when I give it to him).
I saw that employee in at least a couple other areas in the store, so it's not like the Toy Department was his only area. So, there's a story of a very helpful Target employee. Having worked in retail many, many ... many moons ago, I can tell you that retail employees are just like anyone else. They have bad days and good days. Yes, their first priority should be customer service ... always, but let's be serious. They're human, also.
Frankly, though a "colllector's" money is just as good as anyone elses', and that shouldn't even be an issue when selling something, if I had a "collector" and a kid who would actually PLAY with the toy/item in front of me, and I only had one of the toys/items, I would give it to the kid (to purchase). Every time. Heh, and please don't say that, as a collector, you'd encourage givin' it to the kid. Heh, let's be real, some of ya would, and some of ya wouldn't. ;)

Id give it to the collector a child usually plays with a toy for a little while and gets bored with it or it gets broken. A collector would most likely treasure it for the rest of their days. ;)

I was at a Target yesterday and there was 2 Dukes, 2 Storm Shadows, and 1 Cobra. Snake Eyes is always gone. I found a full set at TRU but they were all smashed. At Target I scanned cobra to see if they had more in the back and it said yes. So i asked an employee if she can bring out the box because it said there were some in the back. Ad she was like "Where did it tell you that?" As if I didn;t know the scanners told me, she found out that day that they did tell customers and then she was very mad at me and my bros for some reason and kept trying to find an excuse to not bring them out and finally she went and came back with a whole box, I got Snake Eyes, now there are 3 of each there except 2 cobras and no snake eyes. I dont know why people are so fussy about going to the back and bringing out a box.

I've seen people look at them but just to see what the hell they were. Never to actually buy them. The only time I ever saw someone look at them was some girl was like "Oh, I told my brother I'd look at these dumb things. They're called Mighty Muggs. We ordered some special ones online once." and her friend goes "Are they actually mugs?" I was like dsaihfsgfksagfgahf

You'd be payin' $20 MINIMUM for each of those Muggs, 'cause of the shipping. Just wait a few weeks, for goodness' sake. You could buy TWO Muggs right now at Target for that $20. You win no points in life for bein' the first to have one in your neighborhood.
Heh, just kidding, of course you win points.
I don't want to crush anyone's "reality" here. ;)

Does your Target also have 32 cash registers/lines and only 2 of them open at one time? Just curious.
