I've done a couple of mock ups, and I want to start painting within the next couple of weeks. I have plenty of acrylic paint, but I'm torn because I want to get the smoothest coat possible.
I was just wondering if any of you customizers use an airbrush for your pieces, because I'm thinking of investing in one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The only problem with airbrush is the chance that it would run down your mugg, the paint is so thin to be sprayed that it would take at least 3 or 4 coats to get a nice cover, also masking is a huge pain. It may be a good idea to use an airbrush on the larger areas of the mugg but use a brush for the details. Really its personal preference in the end though:cool:

If you take a look at my most recent customs, such as Nightcrawler and Archangel, They are as smooth as the hasbro ones so in my oppinion, you can paint just as smooth as you can airbrush so its all a matter of preference. I feel like im more in controle over what the mugg looks like with paint, airbrushing always looks like it can drip which would suck. Its all preference though

if you are using good quality acrylic paints like Model Master or Citadel, you should be fine just painting them on. Those paint usually come out very smooth
