So I'm on HasbroToyShop.com peepin out some muggs and I see that there are three versions of the Fertility Idol and three versions of Commander Gree. The normal, for regular price. The AFA Graded 9.0 version for $49.95. And finally the AFA Graded 9.5 for $74.99. What the hell is AFA and they look the same, what is the difference in the three? The price differentiation is blowin my mind!

AFA is the group that officially grades stuff using the 10 scale - so, higher the rating, that means the minter the box/packaging, including defects on the toy itself. For instance, my Lando has a smudge that doesn't come off on his head. So it'd get a lower rating. And i was an idiot and in trying to open the box hastily, i poked a freaking hole in it (haha).
For collector's (the ones who never open their toys), they care about every single detail and this is the 3rd party that people use to determine a rating. People pay more for the "more perfect" ones. Hope that helps.
If you want an official definition, google it. But that's my understanding of what they are/do.

From Hasbrotoyshop.com description of their graded Muggs:
"As part of the standard AFA processing, this figure has received an individual label with barcode and has been sealed in a slightly UV-resistant hard acrylic case designed to preserve the figure’s condition for decades to come."
Just wondering if they'll make these available for purchase for all of us who keep our Muggs in the original packaging. I don't know if I would by them, but I wonder what collectors accessories we'll see for Mighty Muggs. I also wonder what they'd charge for these if they decided to make/sell them. Any guesses?

Cool, let us know what you find! I've seen some at The Container Store. Some were very specific, like for cereal boxes and baseballs. I don't remember the prices however.:o
