Just got a Wii

Hey, I just got a Wii yesterday, well not really, my girlfriend got one and shes keeping it at my house. And I was wondering what are some good games we should get for it. I'm not really a Nintendo kind of guy, I've always liked the 360 better, and I have no idea what would be good for the system. I know I need to get Super Smash but what else? Btw we are looking for a cheap second controller + nunchuck. Anyone have one they wanna sell or knows someone or knows where to find one cheap?

PS. I'm considering selling my DS Lite, it's white and in perfect condition, like new, with a few games.

All I have to say is: anything made by Nintendo, rules. :D Also, as anyone else noticed when the PS3 came out everyone wanted one, and someone was even shot for one, but now people want mostly Wiis and 360s?

Mario Galaxy is pretty good. Even better once you unlock everything and get to use Luigi. Obviously Smash Bros is a good choice. I personally didn't like Mario Kart that much this time around. The controls were way too loose. Thought Double-Dash was about perfect, and then they made that not nearly tight enough so that people could use the Wii Wheel, I figure. Metroid 3 is very good. Galaxy Wars is cheap and fun. I've played a bit of Fire Emblem and like it, but can't really say for sure since I've been bogged down with finals lately. That's all I can say for now, though.

you are wrong...it IS perfect. :D. its a blast with two people who know how to play. me and my husband actually won a tournament for it! (okay so there was only like 16 people:p)

anyways, about the wii. the new mario kart is fun, but unbalanced. wii fit is fun and could be a real big hit with your gf. super mario galaxy is wonderful and hes so cute as a bee! but yeah, itsa great game, beat it thru 121 stars w/ mario and luigi. this may sound weird, but EXCITE TRUCK is probably my favorite Wii game. it has pick up and playability but challenges and harder difficulties which are a true test.

please PLEASE dont get caught up in these generic party games, or cooking games or fashion designer games. thats my advice!

I gotta see how much money I'm getting for Christmas considering everyone already got me my presents lol
BTW I rented Sonic Unleashed which is okay.. you spend too much time in werehog form which is mad lame.

Yea its wireless out of the box, it was a quick setup too, less than 5 min for me.
I'm looking for the same games too, Prolly gonna get the Wii Zapper when the new Resident Evil game comes out. Def, need SSBB, Wii Play, and a Mario game. I just havn't decided which one yet.
BTW I was in Microcenter and their game selection sucked. They had Mario Party 6 for Gamecube used for $40! LMAO I asked the guy if that was the price he said yes hahaha!

I've had a Wii since it came out, I stood outside a Target for hours to get one and it has been amazing eer since. Some you games you absolutely have to get would be Mario Galaxy, Smash bros, RE4, OKAMI, Metroid Prime 3, Lego Batman (or any lego game:)) Animal Crossing, Super Paper Mario and more but you have to have those

Like gooeychicken, I have had my Wii since standing in line at Wal-Mart for 4 hours on release night. I agree with all the games that have been mentioned but there is one I'd like to add if you don't mind a lot of blood and crude humor, No More Heroes. It's my absolute favorite game for the Wii. It just never stops entertaining even though its semi-repetitive and very short.
