Hello fellow mugg brothers and sisters. It's been a while since i've been around, and while i poke my head in from time to time it saddens me to not be as engaged as i once was. life is that way sometimes, and i've been focusing my energy into lots of other things lately.

but enough about me, this thread is about Mugglab.

many of you have contributed to it's pages, and many many more of you have sent in work that has never been posted. it is a manual site build, meaning every page is generated separately, individually, and every change must be made by diving into the code (not like posting something on mmf). this is NOT my area of expertise. i learned a lot building the site, but it became more than i was capable of coding and so it sits, idle, untouched.

if someone does want to buy it, i'd entertain offers, but what i really want is for someone to take the site on, and maintain it. hell, re-do the whole thing if you are so inclined - it needs life breathed into it once again.

there is no advertising or any other tools for generating money on mugglab. i never figures out how to be honest. so it's been entirely out of pocket (and supported by the mugglab fundraiser). there's no money in this for anyone, it's just a project that takes love and dedication.

so, if you've got experience in web design, and aren't afraid of taking on a ton of work, then shoot me a pm - let's talk.

for those of you who read the whole post, thanks.

Ok, so just so we're clear, whoever takes it over would have to pay for the domain (which is pretty cheap in case anyone isn't aware) and hosting (which can vary in price).

well, there's two options on the table really.

1) someone buys me out (which at this point, i'd consider ANY offers). they will own the domain name, and can move it to their own hosting server, etc. domain names are quite cheap to maintain, usually less than 15 dollars per year, depending on who you bought it through. the real cost is in paying for a host server, and in the time/effort to maintain the site.

2) someone steps-up to take over the duties of working on the site. this would be purely for someone's own satisfaction - not for profit... unless you could find a way to have the site make money (doubtful), then we would hash out the details... anyways, it's more a pitch to someone who has the time and inclination to want to bring the site back to life.

If I knew anything about coding, I'd step in. Just from browsing the site before, there were a few features I wish it had.
