I am about to start customizing some Muggs...
Anyone have any hints/ advice?
Three main questions...
#1...Does placing the Muggs in boiling water for a bit make them easier to take apart?
#2...Is sculpey the clay of choice for molding additions?
#3...Any suggestionson which primers of paints work best from anyone that has been making these?
Thanks to all that respond!

#2 NO!!!! Sculpy sucks. period. Dont use it. Only use apoxie because it wont crack, chip, and is so much stronger than sculpy. And it air dries so you dont have to worry about boiling it and the risk of the sculpted parts getting messed up.

I love and hate sculpey - i love using it and it comes out nice and smooth if you work with it, but it is INCREDIBLY brittle and will break if you even look at it the wrong way :P
Apoxie, like atgscl said (I've never used it but only heard wonderful things). I like Paperclay, although it doesn't stick to vinyl very well. I like it because it's very light, and it doesn't break on me.
