I guess this goes in the Art and Mockup Section.

I am working on a Green Arrow Custom and I am brainstorming on how to create his hat. I Haven't decided whether it would look better to paint it or make it out of something. I want to know what you guys think. If you think I should paint it then it is really up to me how I achieve that but if you think constructing it in some way would look better ( I do) I could really use some tips on how to go about doing that. What mugg accessories would I need and how would I modify them? If I wouldn't use mugg accessories what (specifically) should I use?

Thanks (in advance) for your help. I have included pics of the version of the character I am going for so as to give yall an idea of the hat that I am trying to achieve.

I would sculpt the hat. It would look funny if you painted it on.

I liked to use the mighty putty. but you could probably use Sculpy. Since it wouldnt have to be attached to teh mugg, you could mold it, then bake it. (thats what your supposed to do) it makes it hard. You can pick up Sculpy at Joanne fabrics, or Michaels...

dont use sculpy! That stuff doesnt get very hard when its dry and cracks easily. especially if it will be on a Mugg head thats not solid plastic.

Use some apoxy. Aves Apoxie is relatively cheap and can be bought at their site: avesstudio.com

I used to use Sculpy but switched over to Aves Apoxie. the AA has never cracked or broken, even with force.
I recomend it for all sculpting needs

i think that if you are skilled enough you could make the painted hat work but i do think the scupted hat would ultimately look better if you know what you are doing (not trying to make you mad, and if i do i am sorry). but over all i think the custom idea is a great one and i will be interested in how it turns out will you post pictures?

Of course I wil post pictures. However I just read Green Lantern: Rebirth (in which the GA plays a major role) and He doesn't have a hat in it and he still looks kickass. I may nix the hat all together. Thoughts?
