The title says it all...are you happy with Hasbro's choice of characters, thus far? Why or why not?
Have there been any characters that you'd have expected to see made before others?
Let's hear your thoughts!

Hmm... well I have to thank Hasbro for picking out all the fan favs and main characters, but I really would like to see a bigger selection, or choices of characters. Or even more types of muggs that are open for Hasbro to produce. Such as Voltron mighty muggs, or more, if they could purchase the rights. But I hope to see more Transformers and GI Joe mighty muggs threw out next year.

As I've said in another topic once before, my only problem with the character choices is just how many different varients of specific characters there are. There have three different Spider-Man's alone. Throw in Venom and Doc Ock, and Spider-Man has 5 different Muggs to his name. Is that a problem? For the most part, no. But when other Franchises like X-Men, Ghost Rider and The Incredible Hulk only have one to their name and some franchises like Daredevil and Blade don't have any, it's a bit unfair. The same can be said about Star Wars too. Did we need two Darth Vaders? Do we need three different Clone Trooper characters? Granted, I love all the Muggs so far, I just think they need to slow down with character varients and focus on making unique character muggs.

Hasbro's choice of characters have been well picked, but when it comes to creating new waves they make make a remake of an already released character such as Darth Maul and Darth Vader. They are cool and all, but I think they should only make one of each character, and not have a repaint or something like that. Take for instance Captain America cool, but another figure was just unnecessary they should not replicate figures like that.

I honestly couldnt believe they did doc ock before like a ot of other people and then I remembered the movie, but whatever. AS long as they keep em coming. I'm sticking with my theory that they will continue to make the most popular (movie) characters as marvel muggs.

I think the Indy line would have lasted longer with a better character selection. Cairo Swordsman and Monkey man came before Sallah, Young indy, or Major Toht?

I can't really complain about the character selection, but, as most of the muggers here, I feel that there's an unnecessary number of variants for some characters, like Iron Man, They should've done the movie Iron Man and no other IM, a War MAchine would've been cool, instead of Mark I Iron Man, for example, in case they wanted to make an Iron Man comic character.
That's just my two cents, anyway.
At the rate that they come out I can't be too critical but my nit-pics would be...
-no melty face Nazi in the Indy line before it went under.
-I don't think we really needed another Captain America so soon.
-would have prefered a Super-Skrull to a regular Skrull (that and the Skrull dosen't seem to come with a blaster).
-haven't gotten a pilot Luke yet.
-would like to see more episode IV-VI characters. The line seems to be very I-III heavy.

not that happy but still happy coz they released galactus. not a fan of galactus but he is totally cute.. it wont matter to me what character they'll be introducing on the next wave but they should make sure they look cute coz for me i havent seen a marvel wave worth completing.. wave 1 having second thoughts with venom, wave 2 hate the hulk, wave 3 black spidey looked like a blank muggs, wave 4 dont like silver surfer coz he seems blank to me and torch hate that smile.. wave 5 i dont know if i would buy skrull..

I am a Marvel Mugg guy first, and a Star Wars Mugg guy second...not really into the Indy scene, and the Transformers really do nothing for me. I may get some GI Joe's...time will tell.
That being said, I am actually quite pleased with the character selection of the Marvel Line thus far. The biggest "disappointment" thus far is the release of another Cap, and another iron Man. I would love to see Loki at some point, and more X-Men....Cyclops, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Storm, Kitty in Sprite costume. Really want to see Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Beast, Ultron, Yellowjacket, Black Panther, Daredevil, and Bullseye. Juggernaut would be cool too!

being a toy collector i would love to see all of ironman's suits. it would be nice to see all of em in starks armory.. but with regards to spiderman's different suits nah..it would be better to give that slot to other characters..

I agree with this completely. My fear is they are trying to stretch it out so it gives us something to look forward to, to keep the line alive, but then the line gets canceled before they have a chance to get all the main ones out, like Daredevil or Blade. But oppositely, If they give us all the heavy hitters up front, all they will be left with are the obscure ones and as much as I would love to eventually see all obscure figures being released, I even understand its not enough to keep a line alive.
But yeah, no need for so many variants at this stage. But here's something to think about - the designers probably are worried if they don't get a few variants in now, they might lose the opportunity to design them later when the line ends.
side note - I am curious if there are any Hasbro designer employees watching our forums for feedback?

im not too happy on the spiderman variants, i personally think the spiderman mugg is really dull, and the face on it is weird. like the spiderweb on the front of the face looks like a akward mustache. IMO
as for waves, i think they wanna release variants bc they're working on designing new muggs, inline for maybe movies or comics. they might also base some waves on the popularity of comics. ie so many spiderman characters, and iron man characters, and captain america.
what really boggles my mind is why they havent released more xmen characters. they have so many designs to go with, which i guess could be the problem. there are many marvel universe/universes that they can choose from, they prolly waste so much time doing research groups on which seem the most appealing to kids, and at the same time designing something thats worth collecting.
in short, marvel is so big=so many designs, many designs often dont attract the amount of customers hasbro wants, thus they redesign at the same time changing the current ones to keep them from dying out.

i dont know why they keep on insisting different kinds of spiderman costume in this line.. i could understand if these were action figures coz it would really sell among kids but as i have observed kids dont dig mighty muggs so why insist.. but when it comes to ironman i dont know but i would really love to see all his suits in this line just like we usually do in action figure collections..building an armory of tony stark

For the most part i like the selection now. I really love how muggs are constantly evolving. Well by evolving im speaking of how there are constantly new muggs being released. However now that i look at them i think Thor could have been way cooler. Same with Ghostrider. I have both and they are sitting right next to my computer but as i look at them i keep finding something about them that i dont like. Maybe im too picky but they could have been much better in my opinion.

Personally I like some of the variants, but it depends on the charecter. I can already forsee a future anakin mugg, episode III variant and young variant cause the clone wars variant is ugly IMO. Ironan variants are okay in my book, but that's only because I like iron man.

I don't really think this line has a long life expectancy. As noted elsewhere in the MMF, Hasbro is limited to the licenses it holds (SW, Indy, Marvel, Joe, TF). I am very disappointed at the choices they made with Star Wars (the only line I'm collecting). Why make Tarkin, Plo Koon, or Darth Revan before staples like Qui-Gon, Jar Jar (I'd buy him over Tarkin any day!), or Queen Amidala? And don't get me started on the hideous design for the Emperor! As for variants, I'm all for them as long as other characters from their respective universes come first! I'd love a Jedi Knight Luke or Han w/ Stormtrooper Armor!!
Also: isn't it weird how our customizers can design Muggs better than Hasbro? Someone over there needs to research what the people want!

I am not very excited about the next Marvel wave. X Men are ok, but not a whole wave of them please. And that Jean Grey is horrible.
