Saw it last night. I really liked it. The plot had some pretty big differences than the original, and I felt that it could have been maybe 20-30 minutes longer, it felt like it went by pretty fast. But overall, I really liked it. There wasn't really one thing that I disliked about it. I'm a fan of Sam Worthington and I think he did a great job as Perseus. Soo, go see it! I recommend it. Also! Gemma Arterton.... And that is all I have to say, lol.

Is Bubo the mechanical owl in it? I probably won't go see it if he isn't.

Dude out of all the movies remade this is one I was really hoping they would remake. The play dough monster thing was just too out dated, lol. I loved the original so I'm dying to see it. Maybe payday.

Don't see any movie in 3D! lol, I hate 3D, it's a waste.
I saw it in 2D, I'm sure it's much better than the 3D version.

The movie was ok although it seem a bit rushed. And the main character screams almost exactly the same, lol. "Nnnargh!"

Bubo "appearance" was really good.

I agree, it did feel rushed. Like I said in my original post, they should have made it like 20-30 mins longer.

probably the worst movie i have seen in a few years.

I'm a sucker for movies. I like pretty much everything.

With that said, I would rather watch Napoleon Dynamite than this, and I absolutely detest that movie. I would have walked out but I was with friends.

I will say ONE positive thing about the movie though, and it was the part where the guy was playing that recorder thing. THAT was funny. Really wish it was just me and my husband, because we would have left, and maybe give dual wielding middle fingers to the theater as we leave.

The "D" in 3-D stands for Dudes!!! It means you bring 2 dudes with you to see it. The three of you sit nice and close and feed each other popcorn. Stop going to the movies with 2 dudes and take your girl out instead! Don't care for this gay movie.

I don't really understand what was bad about this movie, but I do understand everybody has their own opinions. Were you expecting it to be funny? Cause I wasn't at all.

Oh no no no, I wasn't expecting to be funny. What I meant to say was "The only part I liked...was a funny part". Sort of worded that wrong.

The action and dialogue just seemed...cheesy. I felt like my 10 year old cousin was describing the scenes and the action and actors portrayed:

"And then like, they cut off his hand, and then like, they are fighting him, but then his hand gets up, and chases after them. Oh yeah, and his blood turns into giant spiders, NO, SCORPIONS!!!11!! wOOt!!"

Now granted, a good epic cheesy movie can be fun every once in awhile, but I felt this movie showed promise early on and fell short. With all this said though, I wouldn't consider myself a movie critic or a movie buff in anyway. Like I said, I am a sucker for just about anything (I liked Spiderman 3), the fact that this movie made me want to walk out is a scary thought!.

I am a little confused as to why people would like it, but at the same time monstr.squad, I understand that you liked the movie and understand that it curtailed to your tastes maybe. Maybe it is one of those movies that it goes either way for people...no "gray area" really. I fell into the "Worst movie in a long time" section.:typing:

I liked it. My wife liked it, though she said she wouldn't write home about it. But we still enjoyed it. I really liked the Djinn they threw in there. It was like a meeting of 2 cutures myths.

The Bubo part was classic.

The 3D sucked.
The movie was just meh. It's the kind of movie you rent when nothing else is in stock at blockbuster. It will get you through a night when you don't have plans. Definitely NOT worth $15 a pop to see it though!

No movie is worth paying $15 bucks for 3D. Whoever started this 3D craze in the movie industry needs to be punched in the face.

3d movies here are 13. Movies that weren't filmed in 3d but were "enhanced" after shooting are definitely not as good as ones shot in 3D

First and foremost, I throughly enjoyed the movie. Except for the part of Perseus played by Sam Worthington. Although he did ok in the part, he just didn't FIT the part. ''Clash of the Titans,'' which has been rated PG (''Parental Guidance Suggested''), includes a lot of quite vividly photographed slashings, impalements and, of course, the beheading of Medusa, none very realistic though bloody

I would disagree, however off topic, that some 3D would be awesome. Hence Avatar(obviously), but it definatly has its time and place. I have not yet seen clash, but cant imagine it wouldnt be good in 3D.

I remember one scene where the Scorpion plows through a bunch of boulders/rocks in super slow motion and I think to myself, "I bet this did this only for the 3-D version."

Well having only just seen the original about a month before I saw the new one last night, I have to say that I like the original much better. My reasons: The original's story flowed better, as well as it having better character development. The new one for me just seemed rushed. It was like they tried fitting as many mythological creatures into it as they could. As previously stated, maybe it should have been longer. Also, as I said I felt this one had poor character development. I noticed this when they tied Andromeda up. I thought "So?" because I honestly didn't care at all for her character in the same way as the original. And while I'm talking about Andromeda, as far as I'm concerned she is Perseus's girl not the other chick that they threw into this one. On an ending note I'd like to ask the creators of this one a few questions: Why was Bubo cut out? Why was the plot changed to the cliche of Hades trying to take Zeus's spot? And Why was Pegasus black?!

/rant.

Edit: I forgot to mention that near the end when Hades was revealing his true plan to Zeus, all I could think was "Are we going to see Qui-Gon fight Voldemort?" XD

i never saw this movie in the theater but wanted to so i justified the purchase of the bluray by saying i would have spent more going to see it in the theater.....anyways having read all the thoughts on this movie previously my hopes weren't too high.....but honestly i liked the movie alot. i've seen the first one before but honestly its been so long so i wasn't able to compare the two (story for story) but appreciated this one by itself. i did like them showing the ll mechanial owl that was cool. I liked the girl that tagged along and i'm glad he ended up with her in the end. i particularly enjoyed the scene where zeus sent his lighting down on persusus sword. i guess my terribly low expectations made me really enjoy the movie! ha i'll have to see how i feel about it on second viewing....when i want to watch a movie again the next day i know its a keeper in my book.

oh and kick-ass comes out next week can not wait to go buy that!

I am not so sure but Clash of Titans looks same as Thor movie. I watch the trailer and first thing stucks into my mind is a sequel of Clash of Titans. But Marvel claims to present a fantastic theme instead of same.

Clash of Titans was the most overrated movie that I had ever seen. I couldn't get that why there was such a great disaster in the end of movie. The over usage of animation and stunts did the disaster.
