Just finished watching it. Amazing so far. I just hope they are pulling a cop out on us with ... SPOILERS

the two realities (least that's how I'm thinking of it for now XD)

pikey
02-02-2010, 08:37 PM
yeah seems like somehow they will connect the two at the end but for now we get to see how both lives will play out.
so is jacob done for? i was hoping he came back in sayids body at the end

If Jacob did that it'd be awesome! My top question is though: what's the monster's name?!?

beta_fuse
02-03-2010, 05:28 AM
They didn't say yet but a lot of people are code-naming him Fake Locke or just Flocke. The smokey creature is in reality the Fake Locke just in a different form. I really liked how this started off however there's still so much I want answered and with only 14 episodes left...I hope I'm not disappointed.

Yea I'm hoping that they end it really well. I've stayed faithfull since the initial plane crash, I'd like to not be disappointed when it comes down to the series finale.

pikey

i read somewhere the creators don't want you to get wrapped up in how it ends but to enjoy the experience as a whole...
i'm hoping they still WOW us with an amazing ending!

so when the bomb went off it apparently was a time flash and bomb at the same time sending the losties into two different paths....i'm really liking it so far!

Also I have a feeling that the Oceanic 815 survivors will be the ones on that boat we see when Jacob is taking to that other man. Richard will also be on that boat all chained up. Man I can't wait to find out.

dashrndar23
02-03-2010, 07:01 AM
I agree with the creators, the journey is definitely much more important than the destination. I'd still like to not be let down XD.

I'm liking it quite a bit as well, as I stated above though, I hope the plane landing actually ties into the survivors story as well...

My theories reign supreme, and I was 5 for 5 on my theories for the premiere. It was a tad scary. It's to the point where I don't want to think about it anymore since I want to experience it as it hits me.

I do have one more theory about Sayid if no one posted something similar. It's intriguing:

Sayid is dying. He needs help. Jacob mysteriously appears...you know...he is dead. And, he asks Hurls to take Sayid to the temple. It's important.

So important in fact that Jacob writes a note saying if Sayid dies, we're all in deep trouble. That's putting it lightly.

Then you see the water. It looks dirty, like blood dirty. Why is it like that? That's the first time it's been like that apparently.

Jacob dies, and the water was connected with Jacob in a healing way.

Sayid is drowned in the bloody Jacob water, and left to die. Which he does.

Wait, but he doesn't. Is it really Sayid? Or has Jacob risen?!

Also,

I believe it's apparent that the two alt worlds will collide at some point in the near future. Jack's conscious will switch with real time Jack on the island, and this may happen with a few others as well. Something similar happened in a previous season with Desmond. His conscious shifted time periods.

Back to Jack, you saw his blood on his neck. He saw Desmond, who was not actually on the flight. No one else saw him...

And like I've been saying all along, that smoke zilla is freakin' nano machines. Read Michael Crichton's Prey. Smoke zilla is on the front cover!!! ZOMG!

Does it help that the main characters of Prey are similarly named to Lost characters, and having known that Crichton is a big influence on the writers along with Steven King.

oooo...Steven King. This is all very Dark Tower like as well. More on that later.

I think I may be one with the island.

Apathetic_Ninja, I can't remember where I read it but the writers of the show have specifically stated that the monster is not nano-particles, just so you know... Also, I noticed the Dark Tower references as well. Man in Black anyone?

I read that too, but I think that will be something that they retract. Here's the thing, LOST is known to ground all of this seemingly impossible magical stuff in reality. No matter what, it always comes back down to that.

Explaining that monster without nano seems impossible, and I think they'll retract that statement.

I'm open to other theories, but it has to be grounded. It is a machine. A shape shifting machine.

After a bit of research, it wasn't the head writers that debunked the nano theory. It was a dude called DJ Dan. Just a guy who played a character in the lost experience.

"Callers to DJ Dan's show (known "conspiracy nuts") mentioned black clouds made of nanobots as a nod to the popular refuted theory, but by the end of The Lost Experience, DJ Dan himself says that "I sure as hell don’t think you’re going to be seeing it on your television screens anytime around September of this year."

Doesn't seem like a true debunked theory to me. RISE, and LIVE ONCE MORE NANOBOTS!

Hmm, not too sure bout all that. I guess we will just have to wait and see. On another note though, a new friend of mine has told me one of his theories today: He believes that Richard and the Man in Black came to the Island on the Black Rock. He also believes that Richard was taken to the Fountain of Youth at some point which would explain his age or lack thereof...

pikey
02-04-2010, 02:35 PM
i thought we saw the black rock offshore when jacob and the man in black were on the beach...and the MIB said to jacob about bringing them here or something like that

also ninja, the "machine" nanobots could explain the mechanical noises we would always hear right? esp in the first season.

a friend at work said he stopped watching lost when they grabbed the big donkey wheel and started driving the island around...thought that was pretty funny

I believe they also said back during season1 or 2, that they weren't gonna use time travel either. We all know how that turned out though.

Alright, this episode really got me going! What I found most interesting is how the reality where the plane lands is echoing the reality where it doesn't (Kate being there for Claire as well as Ethan being present). Another thought I forgot to mention last week that came up again tonight was "Jack, will you please stop trying to be in the know?" His attitude is really getting on my nerves lol. Also, I feel so bad for Sawyer, he and Juliet are definitely my second favorite couple on the show (Des and Penny are #1) Finally, what is up with Claire?!? I scared the crap out of my girlfriend when we were watching it because I wasn't expecting it to end when it did. The logo came up and I yelled "NO!"

In short, an amazing episode.

was super excited to see claire in the show again! HOT

i'm also excited to see what they do with her character.....so this is the infection that russo would always talk about that killed her crew....i was hoping jacob took over sayids body

i agree dash...i was upset it ended!

dashrndar23

.....so this is the infection that russo would always talk about that killed her crew....

!!! That never occurred to me! That has to be it! When her crew went under the temple, the man in black must have infected them and caused the darkness in them to take control... Wow this show gets better all the time!

beta_fuse
02-09-2010, 09:06 PM
Yeah what Claire and Russeau's situation is certainly connected. The thing that is bugging me though is that if the black monster just wants to infect everyone...why isn't he doing so? He had so many people on the beach last episode when he beat up Richard and just left them there telling them that he was disappointed with all of them. Then I think even further back where he says that he just wants to go home...so I don't know what to think. Does he want to spread corruption or just to those in his way??? I'm so lost there has to be more to all this mayhem can't wait for next week:)

dashrndar23

I'm sure there is a eason why he can't infect people at will. I'm thinking that when Claire an off in season 4 she got hurt somehow and the Others brought her to the Temple. Upon trying to save her lif she was infeced. She refused to take the "pill" and the darkness spread.

This.

Why try to poison them and not just kill them? I mean I can understand why they maybe wouldn't just walk in and kill Sayid because all the other characters are around but Claire was alone.

dashrndar23
02-11-2010, 04:57 AM
I'm sure the poison is meant to kill the infected. Like you said, they can't just go in and shoot Sayid so why not Claire? I'm thinking that the infection spreads so fast that before they could kill Claire the infection took over and she escaped forcefully.

...but yeah im watching to see how it wraps up

dashrndar23
02-16-2010, 06:04 PM
Alright, so this episode annoyed me just a bit. 1. No Claire?! 2. I wish Sawyer would come to his senses! 3. I'm not very interested in Locke's story off the Island...

Other points of interest though: I watched the last 5 minutes of the previous episode enhanced and they referenced the "alternate reality" as a "flash sideways". Also, my probably too predictable theory is that Jack with become the new Jacob...

This episode only adds to the confusion!! I also realized they did something stupid last episode when the Chinese guy (who has a translator) told Jack that his sister became poisoned. I only realized until I watched the last 5 mins of last episode that how does this Chinese guy know that Jack's sister is Claire yet when they meet for the first time he tells his crew to kill them (Jack and the rest of the survivors who make it to the temple)? I don't know it bugged me a bit like they just forced it in there.

With that aside...I still feel more confused than ever...the children running around all of a sudden, Richard's situation, that whole room of names. It still doesn't tell us why or how Jacob chose those people and how he manages to find them all. WOWOW sorry for the rant but I just can't puzzle anything together it's frustrating lol:P

This show is frickin insane!!! :D

But it does make sense now. Jacob's nemesis (new Locke) seems to symbolize the anti Christ, tricking them all to their own doom. And I loled when Miles said "still hot though".

dashrndar23
03-17-2010, 02:50 PM
Alright! Let's bring this thing back! I for one really liked last night's episode. I love how Sawyer is screwing with both Widmore and the monster (yes I still refer to him as "the monster").

Cyberscream
03-20-2010, 07:20 PM
I think I may have figured out how it ends. Jack becomes new Jacob, and Sawyer becomes the new antagonist (aka monster). And a new plane crashes with them taking their role. It may seem far fetched but ya never know with this show.

dashrndar23
03-24-2010, 06:02 AM
Alright so it looks like this last episode was one of the most confusing this season. I'm still standing by Jacob even though The Man In Black told Richard he stole his body and humanity. I mean after all if MIB really is evil incarnate what's to stop him from manipulating Richard like that? And on a final note anyone else get a little emotional when Richard's wife showed up in the end?

pikey

I don't think that he is mainly because he was not a candidate. Not sure what his ultimate purpose is on the Island but I'm sure we will find out. Also, such a touching moment last night when Jin and Sun were finally reunited :)

guess lost needs to leave us asking more questions.....made me realize they possibly don't have an answer to everything they threw at us. The questions were the backbone of the show...they can't really explain what the light is...cause they have no idea!... some questions i'd really like answers to...Walt...what powers did he have? i understand he grew up and really couldn't be on the show but i'd like to know what the deal with his powers were.

The charlie/claire scene and sawyler/juliet scenes were awesome though! it was great to see everyone back together!

IYG
05-24-2010, 07:04 AM
Well, the actor who plays Walt, his parents refused to let him be on the show which forced the writers to just get rid of Walt and couldn't go into his story.

Was a good finale, not sure yet how I fully feel about it. Didn't really like the other reality and what happened there in the end. But I guess it was a decent ending.

Now for 24 to end tonight, more exciting for me!!!!

IYG
05-24-2010, 07:15 AM
No, the alternate reality was their purgatory. They all died at one point or another, some on the island, others afterwards. And seeing as everyone spends a different amount of time in purgatory, eventually they all went together to the light. Except for Ben who's most likely waiting on his daughter.

I really liked it. My only fear was that they were going to say everything that happened on the Island was fake, that it was all a dream or something. Instead though they relieved me by saying that it all was real :) My one complaint is that the alternate reality was an "afterlife" where they went after they all died. Overall I liked the idea of it but thought "Did you really have to go there?"
