Hey guys! First thing, if there is a thread like this please lock. But, I've heard rumors that Iron man is hard to find, and Wolverine is even harder to find, but I'm not sure, so what is the most hard to find marvel mighty mugg not including the SDCC ones?

Wolverine is definitely not hard to find it is actually one of the most common. Venom is definitely the hardest to find.

There's still quite a few I haven't seen. I've yet to come across any of the first wave of Marvel, except for Wolverine whom always seems to be in abundance. I have only seen Vader and Chewie of the first wave of Star Wars, Chewie is almost always at Wal-Mart. I've never come across a Jango, Cody, Yoda, or anyone from Wave 6. Never seen Thing, Ock, Ghost Rider, Black Spider-Man, Silver Surfer or Wave 5. And I have yet to see any of Wave 2 of Indiana Jones but I can always find characters from Wave 1 at any store. So I guess it all depends on where you live, where you go, and how often you go.

I've never seen Venom in a store, have only seen Thing once, and the first Spider-Man and Thor twice.

By far the most common around here is Wolvy, followed by Hulk, and Doc Ock. There are so many Wolverines in fact that I'm waiting until he hits the clearence rack before I pick him up.

For me, in my area at least, all I ever see is Wolverine. Which is great, because I almost spent $40 bucks on one when i first saw it.

I've never seen a Thing, Doctor Octopus, Thor, or Venom in stores, so I guess those would be rare muggs in the SFV of Southern California.

lol. Whoa. Well, I hate that too. Sometimes it seems like its not even the muggs and how rare THEY are, but the stores that sell them (and where the stores are located). Example: I could go to Target for multiple times a week (or sometimes even a month) and they would have a bunch of Luke Skywalkers that whole time. Then I do the same thing with Wal-Mart, and they have a bunch of Iron Mans the whole time. But still I know they always restock blah blah blah. And almost all the time, when I see people on the forums and Youtube say they found the new wave, I seem to have trouble finding them here. So there you go. :D

p.s. to litepink, I doubt writing a letter would help. lol. Try calling the store and asking them if they have them in stock. That helps sometimes.

I think the SDCC Iron Man has to be the most rare Mugg to date. People always seem to be looking for him and he consistently sells on ebay for $30+ And of all the Ebay listinsg, he doesn't seem to be listed as much or as often as other Muggs. As for other rare Muggs..here's my list:

Definitely Venom. And actually, i've NEVER seen a yoda before. UO has a ton of new ones, but UO's a joke - the one in santana row - ghetto people actually open up boxes for some reason. What? you gonna open up a box to steal a mugg? (altho for $22, i won't necessarily blame them). On a side note, it's crazy how many people open up blindboxed kidrobot stuff at UO. Crap is just laying around and the boxes look taped up by some worker. Lame.

and I guess the basis for mugg rareity is largley subjective, somewhat geographic, and a little speculative (unless you work for Hasbro and know exact production numbers! LOL)

In Michigan, the only one I wasn't able to find in store was The Thing. (A friend found him in Texas for me)
& Venom, but my brother got him for me on EBay.
I've pretty much been able to get all the other Waves at my local WalMarts. I have two within 20 minutes in each direction.
I've actually found the last two waves in one trip right after their release.

I won the SDCC Iron Man on Ebay for 36 bucks. Which I was stoked about. But I've only seen them ridiculousy priced since.
Peter Parker is on Amazon for 24.99. They had a three Mugg package with Parker, Red Skull, & Thanos for 60 something a few days ago. It was like 80 total with shipping.

if you check ebay theres only 3(sdcc ironmans) availble to buy, at $55 plus. there is a lot of Jigsaws on there anywhere from $25-$50

That doesn't neccessarily make it rare. After all, Four of the items you mentioned, including the SDCC Iron Man, can be found on various Web Sites to purchase.

The SDCC Iron Man and Venom are on the Hasbrotoyshop.com web site, with only the Venom out of stock (they have the SDCC Iron Man in at least three versions, only one of which is out of stock) AND Venoms are still being found on store shelves here and there.

Both Punisher and Jigsaw are found on the Toysrus.com web site (out of stock right now, but they will be available again) AND they're still fairly new Muggs.

Personally, I think the SDCC Peter Parker Mugg should be numero uno. We're not just counting Ebay here. I haven't seen that Mugg available on nearly as many web sites as the others.

Frankly, I haven't seen too many Princess Leia's out there. I'd put that one in the top five.

Really? I was a Target today and Thursday and they had three Venoms, a Thing, and Iron Man Mark II. I picked up one Venom and Iron Man, not the Thing though. Should I?

There's a lot of Star Wars Muggs I've never seen in person... probably because my local shops never have good selections and the only other place I've been to when I knew about Mighty Muggs was Disney World. They had like a billion Han Solos and a few Chewbacca's usually there, too, but I managed to snag a Vader 1.0 and Darth Maul 1.0 too there (but I ignored the Hans.).

EDIT: Whoops I though this was General Muggs. Oh well, I don't know many rare Marvel Muggs besides Venom.

In the Dallas area I have never seen a Thor. I saw one Venom when I first started collecting in December and grabbed it. Since then no venom sightings.

Silver Surfer is hard to find too. I saw one recently and grabbed it even though the box looked like a dog used it for a chew toy. The figure even had a few flaws too. But like I said its the first I've seen, so I figure if I find another in better shape I'll just buy it and use the new receipt to take back the messed up one and get my money back.

Only other I'd say I've seen little of recently is Symbiote Spidey.

Venom period. The exclusives can be found everywhere they just cost way more if your willing to pay the price you can get them. But Venom is the "rarest" becuase as far just hunting, and yes the thrill of the hunt is part of the fun, he's so hard to find. Venom was already re-released. It's pretty likely that if you haven't found one by now, you won't. Don't expect to see too many on shelves as the re-release cases are generally ordered by stores in small quantities or not at all. Thor has not been re-released.

i worked at TRU for the holidays, we never had any thors or any other marvel in the back all was sold out, but i found him the other day at my tru... so i dont know where it came from unless it was a return... yesterday i saw original spidey, ironman, silver surfer... was venom in that case?

Based on Ebay values and what I've seen in the stores, Venom is the most rare regular series Mugg. I bought mine a while back on Ebay for around $35 (including shipping, which wasn't that bad considering people were paying $40-50 for them.) After Venom, I'd say it's Thor, but I bought him off HTS when he first came out for $9.99. I think Yoda's getting hard to find, and Commander Cody as well. And possibly Darth Revan?

Having done a lot of my collecting recently I would have to say Thor was the most difficult to find. Venom can be had if your willing to spend a little extra.

sdcc iron man is just a SDCC exc thats why hes alot and hes cool. Wouldent really say hes rare cause hes not found in stores anyway.

Damn, since when is Princess Leia so much?? I have passed her up numerous times in Target and Fred Meyers, (since I'm more into the Marvel line, I don't have every Star Wars Mugg yet), I never realized she was rare, now I look on Ebay and the average price is like $35+!!! Man, hindsight is a B*TCH!!! lol

I have seen almost every other Marvel Mighty Muggs in a store with a bad box so I didn't pick them up. The Spider-Men I haven't really seen anywhere in person but they are everywhere online.

I have notice yoda is harder to find in stores now. Where I live the Shock Trooper is the rarest. It sells out so quick. I have only seen it once or twice in stores. Where I live the Target stores are really recessed.
