Anyone excited about this movie? I am. I remember reading the story as a kid and I like how the characters look in real life.
Awesome how they added CGI on the costume's face to give them more facial expression.

It seems pretty mixed here but I'm looking forward to the movie. It somewhat reminds me of some kind of "Indy" (art house?) film.
Here's a scene.

lol, me neither. The book is pretty short so it's not surprising that Spike Jonze had to flesh out the story by adding this desert scene, having Max's parent argue, etc.
A lot goes on in this film and hopefully it's good.

However I am so going to see this movie!
they can't do anywhere near as bad as they did to G.I. Joke , rise of "crap-ra" :)

Just got back from watching it and I thought it was great. It was of course much different from the book but overall it was awesome. I do agree it was kinda scary in some parts lol the book and trailer are much more happier :D

Well just got back from the Theater. The movie is ok. It's "unique" how they portrayed Carol in the movie and the ending is pretty good.
Anyone feel like nearly every other scene had waay too many piano/guitar/indi band music?

i went and watched it in imax, i liked it. i don't feel it lived up to the hype. also i enjoyed douglas' stick arm.

i agree. it would have been a lot cooler if they didn't over do it.

I saw the IMAX version last night, it was amazing. I was expecting a lot from that movie for some reason, and it completely lived up to my expectations. The music and the way it was filmed just work together so well, even though there's not much of a plot (well there's one but it's really realllly simple) I thought it was simply brilliant.
It's definitely on my blu-ray to buy list. Can't wait to see it again (but it won't be in IMAX because it was 20$ per person!!)

Well the movie is number 1 at the box office with $32.5 million.
I'm still mixed about the movie. In a way, I like how it's different from the book and how it's portrayed as an Indi (arthouse) type of movie.
Does anyone else think Where The Wild Things Are is a kids movie?

saw it yesterday with the fam.....it was just how i remember the book....boring. it was cool to see it all come to life, but that stint of nostalgia didn't last long, i was nodding off after the first half hour. i really liked the music tho, the soundtrack really made the movie imo
