How do you clip a mugg back together??...

Hi all! I am in the middle of customising a cobra commander mugg into batman, and I used the method of heating it up before I painted it to get the pieces apart, so I could paint each piece separately. However now I am finished he is a little more harder to clip back together, I have tried cushioning it and using force to clip together but no luck. Any hints or tips please you guys?!

make sure that you got all of the glue off of the pegs and out of the holes. Since the glue is dry, you may have to sand down the pegs a little bit.

Or cut the pegs off all together and just glue the body back together >.<
